Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Baine.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
This is such an interesting story for me because what started as loneliness in motherhood turn into a tourism/travel account. I went through this huge life altering event, divorce, and i was so lost. But sharing my journey of anxiety, depression, reassuring women they weren’t alone in their motherhood journey, divorce and being a single mom really turned into an outlet of how can i be the best version of me but also using my platform to support other women, small businesses and share my day to day life!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It depends on how you look at it. The haters, the naysayers, the doubters, the friends who don’t show up for you like you thought they would or how you show up for them. That is life. That is everywhere. I let it fuel me to be the best version of myself. I continue to show up and keep outworking everyone else. I have a full time job and I enjoy content creation so it really is a passion project of mine!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like this question becuase a lot of people don’t know I have two full time jobs. I am a nurse practitioner at a local urgen care and I have been working for the same company for 7 years! I worked as a provider through the pandemic and that truly changed me as a person. I battled autoimmune, depression, seclusion during all of this but I came out stronger at the end of it. Who knew trauma could make you stronger!?
On the flip side I also do content creation and I am an “influencer” if you will! I am so proud that I have been a champion for small businesses and sharing the word of how many great places are in Southern Illinois!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that St. Louis has SO MUCH to do! I went to college at SLU and worked at Children’s for several years. I love the passion for sports and I love the restuarant scene. What i dislike? the crime! the corruption! the changes to downtown! it is so hard to see washington avenue not be what it was 10-15 years ago!
