Check Out Lilyan Vanderver’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilyan Vanderver.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Lilyan Vanderver
Owner and photographer behind LPV Photography — a proud mama, fiancé, full-time Inside Sales Rep, and passionate creative.

My love for photography started early. I was always the one grabbing any camera I could get my hands on, snapping pictures of anything that caught my eye — moments, people, nature, you name it. As I got older, I naturally fell into the role of “family photographer,” especially during the holidays. I loved directing people from behind the lens, turning everyday moments into something beautiful and lasting.

Everything changed when I was a freshman and my parents gifted me my first “expensive” digital camera. It may have been an entry-level model, but to me, it was everything. That camera never left my side — I took it everywhere, practiced constantly, and soon began offering free senior sessions to friends just to gain experience. I was eager to learn and fueled by passion. Those free shoots turned into extremely affordable sessions, and from there, things began to take off.

Since then, photography has grown from a creative outlet into something much deeper. Every session is a new opportunity to evolve, not just as a photographer, but as an artist and storyteller. I don’t just aim to capture a moment; I aim to capture a feeling — a spark, a memory, a sense of time standing still.

With each year, I’m more inspired than ever to grow, learn, and expand my vision. I’m so grateful for the people who trust me to preserve their most meaningful moments. LPV Photography is built on passion, connection, and a whole lot of heart — and I can’t wait to see where this journey continues to take me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say it’s been a fairly smooth road overall! My journey started slow and steady, which honestly worked in my favor. It gave me time to grow at my own pace, learn from real experiences, and build a solid foundation. Of course, like any creative path, there have been moments of self-doubt or slower seasons, but those times have always pushed me to stay focused, keep learning, and remember why I started. Every challenge has taught me something valuable and made me more confident in the direction I’m going.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work full-time as an Inside Sales Representative! Balancing a career, motherhood, and a growing photography business definitely keeps me on my toes, but I genuinely love the challenge.

I’m most proud of my work ethic and time management. I’m very intentional about keeping a clean, organized schedule that allows me to give my best to every area of my life — from home and family to friends, work, and photography. And just as importantly, I make sure to prioritize unplugged time with my family. That balance is everything to me.

What sets me apart is my commitment to always putting my best foot forward. Whether it’s at my 9-to-5 or behind the camera, I’m dedicated to showing up with passion, professionalism, and a desire to go above and beyond for the people I serve.

What matters most to you? Why?
My family matters most to me — not just the family I’ve built with my fiancé and our son, but also our extended family and the close friends who’ve truly become family over time. My fiancé and son are my best friends, my soul connections, and my favorite adventure partners. We cherish the little moments, new experiences, and loving our animals.

I’m incredibly grateful for the support system we have — the people who show up, love big, and make life feel full. They’re my greatest motivation and the heart behind everything I do, both personally and professionally.
