Check Out Mary Louise Scott’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Louise Scott.

Hi Mary Louise, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began writing at the young age of 12 and then not so long after, I developed the love for acting in highschool. I’ve gone form being invlolved with hybrid publishing companies to going back to self publishing. I have a total of 8 books published, and about equal amount in ebook formats. Since 2012, I’ve been apart of the entertainment industry, working and being on game shows, daytime shows, TV and movies up until 2024. Now, I’m getting involved with audio series shows with Pocket FM, as I have three audio shows live. I”ve been apart of Fable Studios and Showrunner and I have worked on their animated series Exit Valley, recently I was giventhe greenlight to have two of my own animated series released through them. Which I’m now currently working on the Season 2 for both shows, which are available on my Youtube channel. There is so much more to come and you can follow it all on my social media accounts.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, there has been a great deal of struggles along the way. I’ve had to face health issues, financial issues and constant survival battles. One very big struggle in the past was working with certain hybrid-self publishing companies and getting taken advantage. You sign with them and pay thousands of dollars because you feel it’s your only way of getting your books where they need to be. That wasn’t the case with me and it was a very hard lesson that led me back to where I am now. I had struggled with health issues for over 10 years, which made it very difficult to continue traveling for auditions and or accepting roles on TV and Movies. Not being able tohave steady stable income was also an issue for me due to certain health issues. Now, I’m planning to start working again in film and TV, when I’m able to. None of this is easy, if it were, there would be challenges or concerns. One challenge of course being in this business of self-publishing you have to wear many hats. You have to promote and constantly share your work and speak with independant stores and such about stocking your books and or having book signing evetns. I was so pleased once I got involved with Ingram distrisbution because the local Barnes and Noble in Fairview Heights, Il has agreed to stock the books I have with them. It’s a contant battle and facing many challenges, I believe will always be there one way or another but you keep pushing through and never giving up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a writer, content creator, voice actor, and actor when opportunities find me. I’m very versatile in my work, writing anything from romance, drama, thriller and suspense to fantasy. I’m known for writing books and working on TV shows. Right now, recently I’ve been working with a gaming development company and I do the voice for three characters in one of their video games. I have secured a secon voice character role for another video game they are working on. I’m very proud to have these opportunities and to have my stories become animated series that you can watch and stream on my platforms. I can’t really say what sets me apart from others as there is a huge cirlce out there doing the same thing.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is succeeding in what I love doing. Seeing my books selling and getting high views and ratings. Knowing that I have accomplished everything and making new dreams I never know I had become a reality. Honestly so many things make me happy inside an out of my creative works.
