Check Out Nikki Serenity’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Serenity.

Hi Nikki, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My dream of being a model started between middle school and high school. I saw Vogue models and their really cool, unique, dynamic poses.

I wanted to be like them. I remember trying on clothes in store dressing rooms, posing in the mirror, and taking pictures in different cute clothes. As someone who had extremely low self-esteem and confidence, it made me feel a lot better about myself at the moment.

I started a Model Mayhem account around the age of 18 or 19 which is when I actually started modeling. That’s where I found my first few photoshoots. Then, I started a Facebook account for only my modeling work. I kept building up my network and doing tons of photoshoots to gain experience and build my portfolio.

I met Brad Prime after modeling for almost a year and he trained me and guided me in my career. I have blossomed so much ever since. At this point, I’ve been modeling for almost 6 1/2 years.

I’ve been published 67+ times with 12 magazine covers, I’ve been on Dr. Phil, published in Daily Mail UK, I’ve been on billboards, an album cover, a mixtape cover, 21+ music videos, 14 fashion shows, and much more! I’m hopeful about the future and what else my career will bring me!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not always fun or easy. Sadly most models run into at least one creepy photographer during their careers. I’ve definitely had a handful. This can be anywhere from inappropriate comments, pressuring models to do something they’re not comfortable with, and even sexual harassment or sexual assault.

I’ve had photos from my past posted repeatedly even though I’m no longer comfortable with them. I receive inappropriate messages, photos, and videos on social media almost every single day. I deal with haters, especially from my Dr. Phil episode and Daily Mail article regarding having body hair.

I’ve had photographers getting offended that I charge for photoshoots, models getting jealous or causing drama, etc. Recently I stood up for a model friend getting bullied in a local car group and they started bullying me for standing up for her. I’ve had photographers not show or cancel at the last minute, especially when I’m traveling.

I have people trying to go really low on my rates, making it almost not worth all the time getting ready, traveling, and doing the gig itself.

I’ve had people from my past who had nothing to do with me or didn’t talk to me in school suddenly pop up like we’re friends after they found out I was on Dr. Phil. There have been so many struggles, but I’ve managed to get through them all. It has helped me become less naive and also stronger.

I’m thankful for the lessons I’ve learned on this journey,

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Model, Actress, Brand Ambassador/Promo Model, Merchandiser, Livestreamer/Broadcaster, Model Coach/Assistant, Photography Assistant, Video Maker, 4.0 College Student, etc.

I specialize in editorial posing and modeling with long, flowing dresses and fabrics. I’m known for sometimes having armpit hair, which is what my Dr. Phil episode and Daily Mail article are about. I’m most proud of how hard I’ve worked and how much I’ve accomplished. I never expected to do all of this and to get this far.

I’ve always had the dream but I couldn’t see it truly come to fruition. One of the things that set me apart is that I don’t do nudes, OnlyFans, etc. Some people are surprised that I don’t, but it’s just not my style. I’m really into fashion modeling.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Stepping out of your comfort zone, trying something new, etc. always involves taking risks. I think that’s a great thing. I love the quote that faith is spelled R-I-S-K.

I risk losing money every time I travel and hope photographers don’t cancel. I risk losing time every time I go to a photoshoot and hope the photographer shows up. As much as it sucks to lose something, sometimes that happens.

A big part of why I’ve come so far is that I’ve taken risks and stepped out of my comfort zone so many times. Successful people don’t follow their feelings. They follow their commitments, responsibilities, and properties.
