Check Out Stanaireon Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stanaireon Williams.

Hi Stanaireon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As an iPhone photographer, my start in the photography world dates back to 2017. I started a T-shirt line and didn’t have the funds to pay anybody to shoot my clothing. Apple had just come out with a portrait option, and I took matters into my own hands. From that point on started practice shoots on my phone & got paid for some shoots as well. Christmas 2018, I was gifted with a canon rebel t5; that’s when “Moments By HEC” was born, and it was uphill from there. I practiced with anybody I could, from coworkers, friends, & family to anybody that would put up with my random ideas & creativity. Fast forward, moving to the ATL area from my hometown East Saint Louis, IL, in 2019. This journey played a huge part in my growth in photography as a whole, from meeting different creatives, internships, and just the journey of being in a big city on my own for the first time. Although I still have so much to learn, all that has gotten me to the lovely photos you see today. Most of my journey is very unexpected & I firmly believe patience is key. I’m living proof.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road for me has been smoother than expected. I’ve had minor hiccups on my journey to where I am now. When you are adulting for the first time on your own, some things have to be put on pause so you can prioritize properly. While doing so, unexpected gifts & opportunities that I needed came at the right time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a photographer specializing mostly in portrait, fashion, & editorial photography. I like to try to touch on different styles to get the experience & to see if ill like it. I’m most proud of my growth within the last year. I did not expect to sprout at the rate I did. I get some of my inspiration through music, which I believe sets me apart from others.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
The small things that will contribute to my happiness for so long, like many others, I’ve lived a life of pleasing everyone around me & leaving me with scrapes. I’m learning putting myself first isn’t selfish but self-care.
