Check Out Tiarra Adams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiarra Adams.

Hi Tiarra , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Viva La Vegan began during a time in my life where I was not healthy. I mean brain fog, anxiety through the roof, overweight, depressed and other issues. Then one day I came across a Google news article about how a plant based diet can help cure the mind of brain fog and aids with detoxing. Cool, I already know how to cook so this would be easy. I cold turkey ( no pun intended) cut out all meat and dairy. I did go back to my old ways of eating for a moment then went back plant based and I have fell in love with the craft of creating mouthwatering dishes all powered by plants.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No ma’am no ham no turkey is this road easy. I have found myself to come to understanding that God needs me to be a full blown entrepreneur and learn how to manage every angle of my business. So running into trustworthy partners has been testy. At one of my events one of my helpers stole my notebook possibly thinking it was my book of recipes. Now I am taking free courses on marketing, accounting, gardening classes, and more to come to enhance my skills to present an ultimate experience to my clientele.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the Nutrionist at Wellston Loop Community Development Center, where I create, cook, and serve those individuals who are illegal substance users and those in need. We provide an array of services such as free food, free clothes, wound care, peer support, and more.
Most people know me as the Vegan Chef or Nutritionist T.

I am proud that I was chosen by Lincoln University Cooperative Extension who partnered with Workforce Centers of America (The Met Center) who chose me to teach their 3 week cohort Agribusiness classes from March till September. We taught about gardening, how to operate a business in gardening/farming, become an entrepreneur in agriculture, cooking classes and more. Be on the lookout for our enrollment classes in the near future again.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I have take on the challenge of learning how to recreate as many dishes that I use to love and make them plant based. I am going to master the skill of creating whole food delectable plant based dishes and deserts to meet the health requirements of Viva La Vegan’s customers. Everything that is plant based and processed in a box in the stores on the shelves, I want to learn how to make those items to save money and to know what’s all in our food.
