Community Highlights: Meet Dennis Bush of Bush Family Lawn Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Bush.

Hi Dennis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am 32 years old ever since early teenage years I’ve been wanting to run and start a business. I started working very early at 15 years old as a bus boy at a pizza restaurant then I moved to a chicken restaurant and stayed there 11 years got promoted learned a lot about money handling management inventory. I took that knowledge and started my own, now I failed many times trying to get things running trying to find money to invest and trying to find customers. I had children in the midst of trying and had to persevere through it all many times we were behind on bills buffet, and hard work, always overthrow anything. My landscape company probably makes close to $100,000 a year and I’m super grateful and thankful and blessed to be able to run it with me and my wife and my family. I work very hard to build my Customer base and I’m very serious about quality.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My wife has been diagnosed with cancer, making her lose her job and everything was on me. Bills were getting put behind and health was more important hospital bills kept coming and working while my wife sick was very hard. Also, my children has to go to school sports in their help also while I’m running a business on my own and my wife doing everything she can to help.

We’ve been impressed with Bush Family Lawn Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We are a family owned business with fair prices and great work.. love me people and I love finish great jobs when you hire us you will get someone dedicated to making your yard much better. Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like this about the city is it the home of the hustle? It’s money out here in St. Louis and if you’re willing to get out there and grind, it’s definitely a market for you.. what I like least is violence. I know it’s everywhere but St. Louis always top charts for murder rates and I wish people will not use guns and harm others as much.

Pricing:

  • $60 mowing
  • Hauling minimum $100
