Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was a Realtor for 25 years, and for 12 of those years I also worked as a property manager. I owned four short term rental properties, and over a 2.5 year period I went through seven different cleaning companies. Unfortunately, I often had to go back and re-clean after them, which is what ultimately motivated me to start my own cleaning company.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like any small business, there have been challenges along the way, hiring and retaining reliable staff, training for consistency, and building systems that allow the company to grow without sacrificing quality.
In the early days, I wore every hat myself, scheduling, cleaning, customer service, and problem solving, which was exhausting but necessary. Those struggles taught me the importance of structure, communication, and having clear expectations.
Each challenge helped shape how we operate today and reinforced why our standards and processes matter so much.

Spotless STL is a small locally owned and family ran residential and commercial cleaning company serving the St. Louis area. We specialize in recurring residential cleanings, deep cleans, move-in and move-out services, and select commercial properties.
What truly sets us apart is our focus on consistency, communication and accountability. After spending decades in real estate and property management, and personally experiencing unreliable cleaning services, I built Spotless STL around the exact standards I wished existed as a client.
We are known for our detailed checklists, clear expectations, reliable scheduling and for showing up when we say we will. Our clients know exactly what to expect, and if something isn’t right, we make it right.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the trust we’ve built. Many of our clients have been with us since the beginning, and much of our growth has come from referrals.
At our core, Spotless STL isn’t just about cleaning homes; it’s about creating peace of mind. We want our clients to feel confident that their home or business is cared for by professionals who genuinely take pride in their work.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I have many mentors. Some are individuals I’ve invested in financially, and others are friends within the industry, including fellow business owners and even competitors. I’m truly grateful for all of them.
Learning from people in different markets and at different stages of business has given me valuable perspective, honest feedback and encouragement. That combination of paid mentorship and trusted peer relationships has played a major role in my growth and decision making.
