Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Sasiela of Jordan Kay Jewelry.
Hi Jordan, I am so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Jackie and I (Jordan) became friends in college. Jackie was studying Occupational Therapy, and I was studying Physical Therapy. When we graduated, we decided to do traveling therapy together and were able to visit and explore multiple states. Covid brought us back home in 2020, and we were looking for something to fill our new “free time.” That’s when we began creating jewelry together. This continued over the next few years until we decided to open our new business “Jordan Kay Jewelry.” We love creating handmade and personalized jewelry for our customers and creating meaning behind each piece.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Jackie and I work so well together; it has been a blast! Our biggest struggle has been stepping away from the business when we need a break to prevent burnout. We both love our business so much that it can be difficult to spend time on ourselves, but we know it is so important that we can come back with even more energy and creativity!
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in handmade, high-quality jewelry. We love creating personalized pieces for our customers by hand cutting, stamping, and assembling each piece from beginning to end. We mainly work with 14k gold-filled jewelry, which is high quality, affordable, tarnish-resistant, and waterproof. We want each piece of jewelry our customers take home to be meaningful and last long. We have started branching out into silver pieces as we get more requests, and we’re excited to continue bringing more variety into our jewelry line. We also offer permanent jewelry at local markets around Saint Louis. We will be at Tower Grove Farmer’s Market every Saturday during this year’s normal market season. We will also update our website with information about our upcoming markets! We love meeting and getting to know our customers and get very excited when we see our returning customers! We are so thankful to everyone who has shopped with us, and we can’t wait to continue to meet new people and help them find their most special jewelry pieces.
