Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Green
Morgan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started in high school when I realized I didn’t want to go to college and waste money on a degree I wasn’t sure about. What I have always known is that I wanted to help people in some way or another. At that point, it was just a matter of figuring out what that meant and where it was going to happen. And that happened to be esthetics school.
After graduating from esthetics school in 2021, I started working for LARK Skin Co. in Webster Groves for Lisa. During my time there, I learned so much from Lisa and the other estheticians. I was only 19 at the time, and she really took a chance on young me, for which I am forever grateful! They trusted me and allowed me to learn and grow as a person and as an esthetician.
I experienced so much at LARK and grew my passion for clean, corrective skincare. Unfortunately, LARK’s retail shop closed in April 2024, and we were forced to figure out a new dynamic. At this point, I decided to start looking for spaces to move my esthetics practice into.
I am now a small business owner! Currently, I am located in Complex Studios Salon + Spa in Maplewood. I still offer the tried-and-true LARK Custom Facial, but I have been able to expand my horizons and offer new facials to best serve my clients!
It has been a crazy start to 2024, to say the least! From not really knowing what was going on with LARK’s retail space to now having a space of my own still blows my mind! But I am here for the journey and beyond excited to continue to grow my personal business and welcome more people into the world of clean, corrective facials!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t know if there is such a thing as a smooth road! I think being someone who has always worked for and been surrounded by small businesses, you learn that there are always a million and one things to do, and life doesn’t stop on top of that.
During my transition to becoming a business owner, life was throwing a LOT at me and my family. But we made it, and I am beyond grateful for the support I have received from my parents, family, the LARK team, and all of my clients. Transitions are tough no matter what they are or what they look like, and having the right people around you makes it so much easier.
All of that to say, I don’t think it’s a smooth road for anyone, but being equipped with support and a plan makes all the struggles a lot less heavy.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Morgan Green Esthetics?
Morgan Green Esthetics was born in March 2024. My dream is to provide clean, corrective skincare to my clients with an emphasis on relaxation because who couldn’t use an extra twenty-minute nap every once in a while! Having products you know and can trust, paired with services that complement and continue results, is the heart of Morgan Green Esthetics.
I know all that life can throw at us, and my mission is to provide a comfortable, calm, and peaceful environment where people can take a step back, maybe take a nap, and recharge themselves. I am incredibly proud of the space I have created in such a short amount of time, and I know everyone who steps foot in my little space feels it too—a homey break from the world!
Entering a new space also means offering new things, and there is much more on the horizon for Morgan Green Esthetics. If you need a facial to escape the world for a few hours, to relax and melt into a facial massage, or to treat and correct your skin concerns, you’ve found the right girl! And I cannot wait to meet you!
What does success mean to you?
I believe success means and looks like many different things for everyone, but for me, I think it breaks down into three key elements:
Achievement of Goals: I am a very goal-driven person. If I don’t have something to strive for, I tend to feel lost. For that reason, achieving goals is a HUGE part of success for me because it means I am honoring a commitment I have made to myself. One thing I have learned is that goals change, evolve, and take time, and that’s okay because we are ever-changing and evolving too.
.
Attaining a Favorable Outcome: While I am trying to be better about enjoying the process and valuing the journey as much, if not more, than the end result, it always feels good to reach a goal and know you did well. There’s a special satisfaction in completing something and knowing you did it successfully.
Personal Fulfillment: This looks different for everyone, and that’s the point! Many people in the service and beauty industry strive to be fully booked and busy, but let’s be real—it can lead to burnout very quickly. I think it’s crucial to find a balance between work and life, knowing that both will always be there, waiting for you in each different season of your life. — This also must be why they say it’s important to enjoy the process because who knows what the end will look like.
