Conversations with Alexander Christain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Christain.

Alexander, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in my mothers stomach making her laugh(wait maybe that’s to far back)… I was an entertainer(acting and comedy) all through my school years. Post highschool some one said I should try comedy. My first time on stage was at the Westport funny Bone. I was so nervous that when I got on stage my hearing went out,, but I saw the audience laugh while I ran through my overly rehearsed routine. The feeling from making people laugh is an addicting intoxicating experience. I’ve had the pleasure to work and establish relationships with some of the same people I grew up watching(DL Hugly,Adele Givens, Kevin Hart, and the list goes on). Entertainment(acting/comedy) is a passion that has only gotten stronger the more I work towards it. Films such as “This Is Life”, “Who Ya Wit 2”, “Twinnin” and “Nexus”(2027) are some of the films that have thrusted me deeper into my first passion and dream of Acting which includes a mascot for the Autsim Ally Foundation.. GOD, My “No quit” attitude, love for what I do,, relationships and passion for the craft(s) has gotten me to the place I’m at currently(which include this opportunity to be interviewed by your magazine)

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
All journeys come with its own set of challenges. Within my journey I lost my sister(best friend) and brother. I’ve been divorced. I had to juggle work, while raising 2 pre-teen/teenage children traveling to various states for comedy shows and also filming movies and TV shows AT THE SAME D#%# time(wait can we curse, just joking) presented its fair amount challenges.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Alexander Christian, but most know me by Smoogie(like boogie). Im a Stand up Comedian/Actor that specializes in putting smiles on people faces from all walks of life. My passion is my purpose.. I’m most proud of realizing my goal of acting in Highschool and intentionally achieving it!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
With A.I.a lot of things are being outsourced to A.I., but it’’s really hard to tell where the industry will shift to. I recently saw a new movie with Val Kilmer…..Val Kilmer passed away years ago, but watching the movie I would have never thought he had passed on. The biggest shift I’m seeing is more independent filmmakers making there mark. The major studios are no longer necessary to be seen and affirmed by industry standards.
