Today we’d like to introduce you to Carmen Turner-Schott.
Hi Carmen, Thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Rolla, Missouri. Ever since childhood, I was intuitive and would dream of things that would happen. At the time, no one in my life could explain why I had these experiences. When I was 16 years old, I woke up around midnight and saw a glowing ball of light in my doorway. That event changed my life and spurred me to seek answers to life’s mysteries. I studied religion, psychology, and astrology to try to find answers. I wanted to help others who had similar experiences.
I attended Fontbonne College in St. Louis from 1993-1997 to major in psychology. I went to a local bookstore in St. Louis called Mystic Valley that same year. I was looking for a book about angels but bought my first astrology book. That book changed my path, and I started teaching myself astrology. Throughout undergraduate and graduate school at Washington University, where I pursued a Master of Social Work, I started doing astrological consultations. Astrology became my passion, and I saw how it could help others heal, transform, and become more resilient. I wanted to bring this tool into my counseling and work with others. I founded the Astrological Self-Awareness Center in 2005 and later changed the name to Deep Soul Divers’ Astrology.
In my typical day-to-day job, I have worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with trauma survivors, children, adults, and teens in various specialty areas for over 25 years. Psychological Astrology is something I have continued to pursue, and I have always worked two jobs. For the past few years, I have wanted to teach the basics of astrology to others and have focused on writing and publishing. I recently started a new podcast called “Deep Soul Divers Astrology” on BBS Radio TV that airs the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month at 9 PM CST.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were many challenges along the way in my journey. Balancing my business, full-time job, and family responsibilities took a lot of effort. It was hard doing everything; it took sacrifice, discipline, and determination to make it all work. Sometimes, I had to take a break from my passion and focus on raising my daughter. My husband was in the Air Force for over 20 years, and we moved a lot, and I had to start over with my career multiple times. I had to reinvent myself and fight hard to get my foot in the door to find new employment. I don’t regret any of the struggles because they were all part of my journey. I am happy to be back closer to home and am able to see my brother and his family, my parents, and my grandfather who all live near St. Louis.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in psychological astrology and feel that astrology can help individuals heal, transform, and become more resilient. I have a unique style of counseling that focuses on spirituality and encourages individuals to tap into the strengths of their birth chart. The birth chart is a map of the soul, and knowing your basic personality traits will validate your experiences.
I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. I am trained in many unique healing modalities, such as Reiki, Pranic Healing, Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT), and Akashic Records. These techniques can help individuals heal on a deeper level.
I am most proud of becoming a published author. I have written nine books: Moon Signs, Houses, and Healing, Phoenixes, and Angels: Mastering the Eighth and Twelfth Astrological Houses, The Mysteries of the Twelfth Astrological House, Sun Signs, Houses, and Healing, The Mysteries of the Eighth Astrological House, A Practical Look at the Planets through the Houses and A Deeper Look at the Sun Signs, Astrology from a Christian Perspective and Astrology Awareness: A Compilation of Articles.
