Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey has never been about chasing titles it has always been about creating impact.
Long before I held executive leadership roles or stood on stages as a keynote speaker, I was simply a young woman who believed in pouring into others. Growing up, I naturally became a mentor to girls in my neighborhood, encouraging them to dream bigger, make positive choices, and believe they were capable of achieving more than their circumstances might suggest. That passion for helping others wasn’t something I learned, it has always been a part of who I am.
As my career evolved over the past 20+ years in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Operations, and Corporate Affairs, I discovered that the same principles of mentorship, advocacy, and relationship-building could create meaningful change on a much larger scale. Today, I serve as an executive in Corporate Affairs and Community Relations, where I have the privilege of connecting businesses with communities, leading impactful initiatives, and helping organizations secure more than $40 million in grants and sponsorships. Through my company, Level Up with LaTonya, I also coach nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and community leaders on how to build sustainable partnerships and maximize their impact.
While many people ask what inspired my passion for community service, the answer has always been my husband, Kahlil AnNoor. His unwavering commitment to serving others, mentoring young people, and meeting people where they are has been the greatest example of servant leadership I’ve ever witnessed. Watching him dedicate his life to uplifting families and investing in the next generation strengthened my own commitment to community and reminded me that true leadership is measured by the lives you impact, not the titles you hold.
Today, I am honored to serve as the Chief of Women of Elite Excellence, a powerhouse keynote speaker, mentor, and community advocate. I’ve been blessed to receive recognition such as the Juneteenth Josephine Baker Award for Cultural Impact, the Pioneer Award from Kappa Alpha Psi, and the Game Changer Award, but my greatest accomplishment isn’t the awards, it’s seeing communities transformed, young women empowered, and future leaders realize their potential. My story is proof that when purpose meets preparation, and when you’re surrounded by people who inspire you to serve success becomes an opportunity to open doors for others and leave every community better than you found it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Like many people, my journey has been filled with challenges, setbacks, and moments that tested my resilience. Balancing a demanding career while raising a family, homeschooling our kids, serving my community, and remaining present for the people who depend on me has required countless sacrifices. There were seasons when the workload felt overwhelming, opportunities didn’t come easily, and I had to work twice as hard to prove that I belonged in rooms where few people looked like me.
One of the greatest challenges has been learning that leadership often comes with criticism. The more visible your work becomes, the more opinions people have. I’ve had to develop the confidence to stay focused on my purpose rather than the noise. I’ve also learned that you cannot pour from an empty cup. Taking care of my own mental, emotional, and physical well-being has become just as important as taking care of everyone else.
Throughout every challenge, my faith, my family, and my commitment to serving others have kept me grounded. My husband, Kahlil AnNoor, has been a constant source of encouragement and inspiration, reminding me that poor preparation makes for poor performance, and that I should always plan my work and work my plan. Every obstacle has reinforced my belief that setbacks are often setups for something greater, and each challenge has shaped me into the leader I am today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At my core, I am a builder of people, partnerships, and possibilities. My life’s work is centered around helping individuals, organizations realize their full potential. Professionally, I serve as an executive in Corporate Affairs and Community Relations, where I connect corporate resources with community needs, develop strategic partnerships, and lead initiatives that create lasting social and economic impact. Beyond my corporate career, I am the founder of Level Up with LaTonya, where I specialize in helping nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and community leaders secure funding, build sustainable partnerships, and expand their reach. To date, I’ve mentored more than 300 youth and adults, I’ve helped organizations secure more than $40 million in grants and sponsorships, resources that have transformed communities and created opportunities for countless families.

Whether I’m coaching an entrepreneur, speaking to thousands, or working alongside community organizations after a disaster, my goal is always the same: leave people better than I found them.
What I’m most proud of, however, isn’t my career or the awards I’ve received it’s my family “The AnNoors.” Together, my husband, Kahlil AnNoor, and I made the bold decision to homeschool all five of our children. It wasn’t always the popular choice, but we believed education should be intentional, individualized, and rooted in purpose. Watching that decision bear fruit has been one of the greatest rewards of our lives. Three of our children began college at just 14, 15, and 16 years old, proving that age should never limit potential when children are equipped, encouraged, and challenged to excel.
One of the proudest moments I know is on the horizon: watching our oldest daughter, Laila AnNoor, walk across the stage to receive her Nursing degree. That moment will represent far more than a diploma, it will symbolize years of sacrifice, faith, discipline, and the unwavering belief that investing in your children is one of the greatest legacies you can leave. No award I’ve received will ever compare to witnessing my children step confidently into their purpose and become compassionate leaders in their own right.
I believe what truly sets me apart is that I don’t just teach leadership, I live it. I don’t just encourage people to serve, I serve alongside them. I don’t simply tell people that success is possible, I help create pathways for them to achieve it. Whether in the boardroom, the classroom, on a keynote stage, or in the middle of a community crisis, I lead with authenticity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.
If I hope people remember anything about my journey, it’s this: Success isn’t measured by the titles you hold or the awards on your shelf. It’s measured by the doors you open for others, the lives you transform, and the legacy you leave behind. That’s the work I’m most proud of, and it’s the legacy I strive to build every single day.

Beyond the work itself, I simply love connecting with people. Some of the greatest opportunities in my life didn’t begin with a contract, they began with a conversation.
One of my favorite quotes comes from the film Lucy: “Time is the only true unit of measure.” That quote has stayed with me because it reminds me that our most valuable resource isn’t money, influence, or titles, it’s time. We can always earn more money, but we can never get back the time we’ve been given. That’s why I’m intentional about investing my time in people, communities, and causes that create a ripple effect long after I’m gone.
At the end of the day, I don’t want to be remembered simply for the positions I’ve held or the awards I’ve received. I want to be remembered as someone who opened doors, inspired others to believe in themselves, and used every opportunity to serve with excellence and compassion.
