Hi Lauren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m the founder and nurse practitioner behind Aisling Med Spa in New Melle, Missouri. My journey into aesthetics and wellness really came from a passion for helping people feel confident, healthy, and empowered from the inside out.
I started my career in healthcare over 20 years ago and have been in aesthetics for more than 15 years. I spent years building experience in patient care, advanced aesthetics, and wellness medicine. Along the way, I was also raising twins as a young single mother, which shaped so much of who I am today. There were a lot of long days, sacrifices, and moments where giving up would have been easier. My husband encouraged me and has been my biggest supporter into following through on my dream to build something meaningful, not only for my family, but for the people I care.
The name “Aisling” is an Irish word meaning “dream” or “vision,” and that became the foundation of the business. I wanted to create more than a traditional med spa. I envisioned a space where advanced technology, medical expertise, luxury aesthetics, and wellness could all come together in a way that feels personalized and genuine.
What started as a dream has continued to grow into a practice focused on skin correction, longevity, confidence, and overall wellness. Today, we offer advanced aesthetic treatments, regenerative therapies, wellness services, lasers, injectables, and customized treatment plans while continuing to invest in education, innovation, and patient experience.
One of the things I’m most proud of is that we’ve built Aisling Med Spa around relationships and trust. Our clients become like family, and our team truly cares about creating results while also helping people feel seen, heard, and confident.
The journey definitely hasn’t been easy, but every challenge helped shape the business and the leader I’ve become. Seeing how far Aisling has come—from an idea built on hope and determination to being recognized as one of the Top Med Spas in St. Charles County—is something I’ll never take for granted.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not—it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs, especially in healthcare and aesthetics.
Building a business as a wife, mother and step mother came with a lot of pressure and sacrifice. There were times I was balancing long work hours, continuing my education, managing motherhood, and trying to build something from the ground up all at once. Financially, emotionally, and mentally, there were many moments that tested me.
Starting and growing a med spa also comes with challenges people don’t always see behind the scenes—building trust in a highly competitive industry, investing in advanced technology, navigating constant changes in healthcare and aesthetics, staffing challenges, and learning how to lead and grow a team while still staying hands-on with patients.
One of the biggest lessons for me was learning that growth requires resilience. There were setbacks, disappointments, and moments where things didn’t go as planned, but I’ve always tried to view those moments as opportunities to learn and improve rather than quit.
I’ve also learned that leadership isn’t just about success—it’s about continuing to show up during difficult seasons, staying true to your vision, and creating a culture where both clients and team members feel valued.
Looking back, I think the struggles are actually what helped shape Aisling Med Spa into what it is today. They gave me perspective, gratitude, and a deeper understanding of the people we care for every day. It made me stronger not only as a business owner, but as a mother, provider, and person.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a nurse practitioner and the founder of Aisling Med Spa, where we focus on advanced aesthetics, skin correction, regenerative treatments, and wellness medicine. Our practice combines medical expertise with a luxury, personalized experience to help clients feel confident and healthy from the inside out.
We specialize in customized treatment plans because I truly believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach in aesthetics or wellness. Some of the treatments we’re especially known for include advanced laser resurfacing, RF microneedling, injectables, skin rejuvenation, collagen stimulation, wellness therapies, and combination treatments that are designed to create natural, long-term results rather than temporary fixes.
One thing that sets us apart is our focus on both correction and longevity. We don’t just chase trends—we focus on treatments that improve skin health, confidence, and overall wellness over time. I’m very passionate about continuing education and bringing advanced technology and evidence-based treatments to our community while still maintaining a very personal and relationship-driven atmosphere.
I’m also incredibly hands-on with my patients. I take time to educate clients, build trust, and create individualized plans that fit their goals, lifestyle, and comfort level. I never want people to feel pressured or “overdone.” My goal is always to help clients look refreshed, healthy, and like the best version of themselves.
What I’m most proud of is what Aisling has become beyond just aesthetics. We’ve built a space where people feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. Seeing clients regain confidence, watching our team grow, and building something that positively impacts our community means more to me than any award or recognition.
I’m also proud that we’ve continued to grow while staying true to our values—quality care, honesty, education, innovation, and treating people like family. In an industry that can sometimes feel focused only on appearance, we really strive to create an experience centered around confidence, wellness, and genuine connection
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely. No one builds something like this alone, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a strong support system throughout the journey.
First and foremost, my husband deserves so much credit. Running a business in healthcare and aesthetics takes an enormous amount of time, energy, and emotional investment, and having a partner who supports the vision, stands beside you during the difficult seasons, and believes in you even when things feel overwhelming makes all the difference. His support behind the scenes has allowed me to continue growing both personally and professionally.
My family has also played a huge role in my journey. They’ve been my foundation, my encouragement, and my motivation from the very beginning. As a mother, so much of what I’ve built has been rooted in wanting to create a better future and show my children the value of hard work, resilience, and perseverance. There were many moments where their love and support kept me pushing forward when things were challenging.
I’ve also been blessed with incredible mentors, educators, and colleagues throughout my career who helped shape my approach to patient care, leadership, and business ownership. Continuing education is everything, and I’ve always believed in learning from people who inspire growth and innovation.
And honestly, our clients deserve a tremendous amount of credit too. The trust they place in us means everything. Many of them have been with us from the early days, referred friends and family, supported our growth, and truly became part of the Aisling family. Their loyalty and belief in what we’re building is something I never take for granted.
Finally, I’m incredibly proud of our team. Building a business is one thing, but building a team that genuinely cares for people is another. Every person at Aisling contributes to the experience we create for our clients, and I’m grateful for the passion, dedication, and heart they bring every day.
