Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocha G.
Hi Rocha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started after having a child and constantly hearing I could rap. After many attempts at things I thought would bring my daughter fortune when I’m gone didn’t work, I got in the studio. I made my first track which would be the Cardi B remix to “Bodak Yellow”. I shot my first solo video for it also.
I have the drive to keep going so nobody but me could stop me. I go all over to any city that wants me to perform and turn their crowd up. I have many people watching me and I finally got a nice strong team to work with so I know it’s nowhere but up from here.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road but it’s been an interesting and shall I say fun road. The good outweighs the bad to me. Having to fund everything alone, for the most part (it’s pricey), and be a mother but I’m built for this so it’s cool.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do music. I perform. I make people laugh. I’m also a hairstylist. I’m known for all of those things and just being me. I am most proud of myself. Because I have endured many tragedies that many others would’ve folded from but I’m different. No matter what I’ve been through you can’t tell unless my mouth tells. I am proud of the daughter I have and how smart and entertaining she is. She is just like me for the most part and I love it.
What sets me apart from others is that I stay in my own lane, and don’t bother anyone. I mind my own business and never cared what others think or say about me. I live in my truth and I am humble.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to anyone just starting is to Listen, Find “You”, and Keep Pushing. You always need a solid team. Invest in yourself. It takes money but it’s all worth it. Have fun!
