Conversations with Vlad HQ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vlad HQ

Hi Vlad, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always had a love for music, but it really started with just messing around—freestyling, writing here and there, and experimenting with sounds. At first, it was just for me, a way to express what I was thinking and feeling. Over time, that passion grew, and I started recording seriously, developing my sound, and putting my music out there.

The journey hasn’t been a straight line. I’ve gone through different phases, refining my craft, learning production, and figuring out what I really want to say with my music. Every track, every verse, it’s all a piece of the bigger picture—my story, my experiences, my perspective.

Now, VLADHQ is more than just a name. It’s the brand, the movement, the sound. I’m here to push boundaries, keep evolving, and make music that hits on a real level.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were a lot of points where things could’ve just fallen apart—moments of doubt, setbacks, times when it felt like nothing was moving forward. The thing is, if you want this, you have to keep going. That’s the difference between the ones who make it and the ones who don’t.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is about trust. Betrayal is a real thing in this game. People will smile in your face and move against you the second they get a chance. That’s why you have to protect yourself. Read the contract. Better yet, make sure you even have a contract. Too many people get burned because they assume handshakes mean something. They don’t.

At the end of the day, every failure, every letdown, it’s all just part of the process. You either let it stop you, or you use it to fuel the next move. Me? I keep moving.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a St. Louis-based rapper who blends raw energy with real-life experiences to create music that resonates. I specialize in hard-hitting tracks like “30 Deep Diss” that aren’t afraid to speak truth to power and capture the grit of our city. One project I’m especially proud of is the viral remix “Ah Thousand Jugs” I worked on with Sexyy Red—a track that not only pushed creative boundaries but also connected with fans on a massive scale.

In addition, collaborating with AMR Dee Huncho, one of the hottest street rappers from STL, has been a game-changer. Working with him highlighted our shared passion for authenticity and helped me further cement my place in the local scene. These collaborations are more than just credits—they’re milestones that reflect my journey, my commitment to evolving as an artist, and my deep connection to the culture and community of St. Louis.

One of my latest projects is with a viral sensation Britt Barbie, who has millions of followers worldwide. I believe she’s up next, and I’m proud to collaborate with her on music that truly represents our talent.

What makes you happy?
What makes me truly happy is my daughter. Since she was born, my entire world shifted. Watching her grow and experience life every day fuels my passion and gives me a renewed sense of purpose. Every smile, every little milestone reminds me why I keep pushing forward—she’s my light and the ultimate driver behind my happiness.
