Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Dane.
Hi Zach, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Im definitely not someone who came from money, but I was raised by a very hardworking mother who worked multiple jobs at time to make sure I never went without. I wasn’t one who was good in school at all. Was not a book smart individual whatsoever. I was more of a class clown if I’m being honest. But what the good Lord did bless me with was the gift of gab. So what I did possess was great people skills, and a natural ability to sell that just seemed to operate subconsciously. I never knew what he meant by it back then but any time my Dad was complemented about how polite or well mannered I was, he’d always respond with (yeah he’s a lil freakin Eddie Haskell) I started knocking on doors from a very young age. So weather it was spray painting addresses on curbs or pooper scooping backyards, I’d say that’s where it all began for me. In 2006 when I turned 16 and got my first truck a little Chevy S-10 I got myself a pressure washer and did up some flyers and started to beat the streets. I decided on pressure washing because my Dad ran a painting company when I was young and painting and pressure washing kind of always went hand-in-hand. Although I didn’t have a lot of experience or knowledge i felt confident about it, or at least that I could sell it, and I would figure out the rest after that. With pressure washing or exterior cleaning I was able to see and target what homes and properties were in need of the service so I could knock and tailor my pitch around that. Which is another reason why I decided on pressure washing. Although pressure washing is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the services we specialize in it all started there. Pressure washing was the door opener for establishing trust and a relationship with the customer that would lead to more business in other services we specialize in. I say specialize in now. But in the beginning in all honesty, I was winging it from day one. I just knew that I could sell the job so I would figure out the rest as I went. In the beginning, the amount of times that I closed a job and then thought to myself all right now I gotta figure out how I’m gonna pull this thing off. I can’t even count lol. But I always knew that no matter what I was going to make sure that even if I did mess up, I wouldn’t leave until it was right and up to the quality standards that I wanted to deliver and the customer deserves we’re satisfied. Whether I lost money or time in the process and trust me, it happened. My reputation and the quality service that customers received is always what mattered most to me. Although it’s been a double edged sword I guess that’s where my OCD has served me well. Trial and error. And as long as you care about what you’re doing and making it right no matter what, then the error along the way doesn’t matter. It’s important in my opinion because so many lessons are learned and knowledge is gained through failure. So my advice to those out there is to not let fear hold you back cause there’s nothing to be feared. Failure is necessary. Get out of your comfort zone because the magic never happens in the comfort zone. And above all put God first over everything. No amount of success or material gain will ever amount to the true joy of salvation, purpose, and fulfillment that can be found in Jesus Christ alone. “A poor man who’s close to God is richer than the wealthiest man who’s far from him” He’s opened doors in my life that I never could have. From a punk kid knocking on doors to now in the commercial side of things as well doing jobs like the America’s Center. Weather, business or personal God is the only reason that I’ve made it through all the struggles that I faced. All glory goes to God. For I am nothing and can do nothing apart from him. “Greater is he that is in you, than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
There is nothing that I have or can do that wasn’t received from him. Even if it were his will that I completely lose this business and company then may his will be done. Although it would suck and I hope that he doesn’t lol, I can endure that. The one thing I could never endure losing is his presence.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d say one of the biggest obstacles for me was learning how to manage and operate the back office side of the business. Gaining the knowledge I lacked and learning how to wear the hats in certain aspects of business that I wasn’t strong in. So as a whole, I’d say getting the back office side of things operating and functioning as smoothly and professionally as the front office side did. Truthfully, it was just an honest hustle in the beginning for quite some time. Though no customer was ever given that impression based on how I conducted myself and displayed the picture I painted. Not until I matured and the Lord transformed me as a person as well as bring the right people into my life that mentored me and I learned from was the company able to become what it is now.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Precise Pressure Washing LLC we specialize in not only pressure washing but also various other home improvement and repair services. Interior and exterior painting, staining and sealing, drywall and plaster repair, minor carpentry, and concrete work, to name a few. And as a pressure washing company, I’d say that’s what really sets us apart from others. We not only can clean and prep the area for the application process, but also the application process as well for a quality and professional finished look. I think another thing that sets us apart is how long we’ve been in business. Within the last 10 years or so the industry has really blown up, and the term soft washing became a thing. So you could say we’ve been soft washing long before the term even came around. It’s all about just knowing the specific surface being cleaned and how to do so in the most appropriate and effective way to ensure no damage is done during the cleaning process. I’d say what I’m most proud of would have to be our reputation and the great long lasting relationships we’ve built with our customers along the way.
What makes you happy?
Well number one will always be My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because only through him do I, a sinner, receive grace, mercy, and life instead of what I really deserve. God has blessed me with so much to be happy about and grateful for. To name a few. Being a Dad to and being with my two awesome kids. Spending time with my amazing faith filled family that I am so blessed to have. Hanging out with my brother and feeding the addiction to the game of Golf we both share. And coming home to the best basset hound in the world.
