Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Kaihatsu.
Hi Edward, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an actor and met a talent agent, April Schroeder of NOW talent agency. She sends me auditions that would be a good fit for me to come in from the Chicago area where I live.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not smooth; Acting is feast or famine. Last year was the worst, but this year could be the best!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a screen actor based in the Chicago area. I love acting in films, but I do a lot of commercials and industrial videos. I’m quite proud of my work in April. I’m St. Louis. I was the moderator spokesman for a video for people recovering from a medical illness or condition. It was 3 1/2 days of monologue! I had a great director, crew, and client, and they helped me get through the tricky parts. That’s what I love about acting, the collaboration between individuals and departments, all to make the project successful!
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
There is no right or wrong. Act the way you envision the story and be flexible if the director wants changes, the script or even the story changes. Adaptability is highly important. As a competitive fencer, adapting to changes on the fly is critical to achieving goals.
