Today we’d like to introduce you to John Grant.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a former recording artist signed to PolyGram records in 1989 my group is Rock n Gee and Dj Shawn. Originally from NJ NYC i came to Kokomo Indiana in 2010. In 2014 I founded WTSX FM LP Kokomo,s First radio station dedicated to Hip Hop and R&B. We are the first radio station licensed by a former Hip Hop artist. In Hip Hop. and we are streaming 24 hrs on Apple music the station name is Power 104.9 FM. Since then we have received recognition from the Hip Hop hall of fame and museum in NY , The Howard county hall of legends and we received A congressional certificate of recognition in 2024. We Are part of power alliance group with our other LP FM In Atlanta GA 100.9 FM The blaze and growing

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Its been a Rough start but we have continued to broadcast to our city for 12 years and still going

Im a radio broadcaster and principal owner The first in Hip hop

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
when applying for our license we were denied several times 4 to be exact but the 5th time was a charm
