Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawniece Carter.
Shawniece, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My modeling journey began in St. Louis, where I started by walking for local fashion brands and quickly discovered a passion for the runway. What began as a creative outlet grew into a career that has taken me beyond my hometown and onto international stages, including New York, Miami, London, and Paris Fashion Week. Along the way, I’ve been featured in magazines and on billboards, worked with talented designers and creatives, and continued to build my presence in the fashion industry. Today, I’m focused on expanding my career, creating opportunities for myself, and becoming a recognizable name in fashion while inspiring other women to confidently pursue their dreams.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Modeling comes with rejection, competition, unexpected setbacks, and moments when you question whether you’re on the right path. I’ve had opportunities fall through and faced challenges balancing my career with the many responsibilities of everyday life. But every obstacle taught me something whether it was to be more disciplined, protect my value, or simply keep going. I’ve learned that resilience is just as important as talent, and every setback has pushed me closer to the model and woman I’m becoming today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Outside of modeling, I’m a full-time USPS employee and a full-time mom, so I’m no stranger to hard work, discipline, and responsibility. Balancing a career in fashion with a demanding day job and motherhood has taught me how to stay focused, organized, and resilient.
I’m most proud of the fact that I continue to pursue my dreams while showing up for my family and my career every single day. What sets me apart is my ability to wear many hats without losing sight of who I am or where I’m going. Whether I’m delivering mail, being a mother, or walking an international runway, I bring the same determination, confidence, and work ethic to everything I do.
