Hi Sherrell, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
13th and Canna consist of a partnership between two midwest besties: Sherrell Hall, the closest smoker and Tameca Burnett, the candle lover. We both share entrepreneur experience, and a passion for building generational wealth. Our luxury odor eliminating candle company just made sense for the times we live in today. So many people are suffering from anxiety with the pandemic and just life itself. Cannabis has become one of the top alternative healing options. Not everyone is comfortable in sharing their road to serenity. This is where 13th and Canna luxury candle company comes into play: we focus on eliminating cannabis smoke odors and not masking them. Who doesn’t love candles? We were able to tap into a market of needs. Our 420 launch has been beyond our wildest dreams. So many people are indulging. Whether they’re trying to hide the smell or not, 13th and Canna is essential for smokers, and anyone trying to eliminate odors. We participate in pop up, while promoting our online store. We’re sold at dispensaries, and smoke shops.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not but that comes with entrepreneurship. It was definitely a process of entering into a new industry. It was a lot of research, late nights, trial and error, testing different wax/fragrance combinations before adding our secret molecule. Our biggest struggle thus far has been outsourcing our glass vessels throughout the pandemic and dealing with shortages/delays.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We hand pour our special smoke eliminating candle for the loud and discrete. It eliminates the smell of cannabis while smoking and the lingering after-effect. Our candles will leave your home filled with refreshing vibes while eliminating those unpleasant odors. One of our most proud moments is customers raving over the satisfaction of our products.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Sherrell was actually shy, yet ambitious. She was always creating. Tameca loved to dance, and had dreams of becoming a millionaire.
