Daily Inspiration: Meet Timera Bramlett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timera Bramlett.

Hi Timera, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into hairstyling started with a passion for making people feel confident, but over time I realized my true calling was working with children. What began as a side business quickly grew into something much bigger through consistency, faith, and a genuine love for what I do. Today, I’m the owner of CROWNDBYT, where I specialize in creating a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for kids of all personalities, including children who are tender-headed and children with special needs.

Building my business hasn’t always been easy. While balancing a full-time career in healthcare, I’ve continued to grow my brand one client at a time, learning from every challenge along the way. Those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of showing up even when things aren’t perfect.

My goal has never been to simply braid hair—it’s to help children feel confident, celebrated, and comfortable in my chair while giving parents peace of mind. Seeing a child’s smile after revealing their new hairstyle reminds me why I started. As CROWNDBYT continues to grow, I’m excited to expand my impact, inspire other entrepreneurs, and continue creating a space where every child feels like royalty.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape who I am as both a business owner and a person. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing entrepreneurship with a full-time career in healthcare while also managing sickle cell disease. There have been days when I wasn’t feeling my best physically, but I still remained committed to my clients and my vision.

Like many small business owners, I’ve also faced slow seasons, financial challenges, and moments of self-doubt. Learning how to market my business, set healthy boundaries, and build systems that protect both my time and my clients has been a journey in itself.

Through it all, my faith, resilience, and the families who continue to trust me with their children have kept me going. Every obstacle has taught me something valuable, and today I see those challenges as part of the foundation that made CROWNDBYT what it is.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of CROWNDBYT, a children’s braiding business dedicated to creating beautiful, healthy hairstyles while making every child feel seen, comfortable, and confident. I specialize in protective styles for children and have a passion for working with tender-headed kids and children with special needs. My goal is to make hair appointments a positive experience instead of something children fear.

What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with families. Parents know they’re leaving their children in a safe, patient, and welcoming environment where they’re treated with kindness and care. Seeing children who once cried through appointments leave smiling and excited to come back is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

What sets me apart is that I focus on more than just the hairstyle. I focus on the experience. From creating a kid-friendly atmosphere to taking my time with each child, I want every client to feel valued. I truly believe every child deserves to feel confident and beautiful, and that’s the mission behind CROWNDBYT. As my business continues to grow, I’m excited to keep serving families in my community while inspiring other women to chase their dreams with faith, consistency, and purpose.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, my biggest goal is to continue growing CROWNDBYT into a brand that’s known for exceptional children’s hair care and unforgettable client experiences. I’m excited to expand my services, build a strong team, and create opportunities that allow me to serve even more families in my community.

I’m also looking forward to hosting more community events for children, giving back through school supply drives, and creating experiences that make kids feel celebrated beyond the salon chair. Long-term, I hope to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs and show others that it’s possible to build something meaningful with consistency, faith, and hard work.

On a personal level, I plan to continue balancing my career as a medical assistant while growing my business. Living with sickle cell disease has taught me not to take any opportunity for granted and to pursue my dreams with purpose. My hope is that my journey encourages others to keep going, even when the road isn’t easy.

At the end of the day, I want CROWNDBYT to be remembered as more than a hairstyling business. I want it to be a place where children feel confident, parents feel at peace, and every family leaves knowing they were cared for.
