Today we’d like to introduce you to Ada Taylor.

Hi Ada, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Lady Ada Joyce Taylor is a nationally recognized entrepreneur, author, and visionary leader whose life story exemplifies resilience, faith, and generational transformation. Raised by a single mother in the historic Pruitt-Igoe Housing Projects of St. Louis, Missouri, Lady Ada defied the odds to become a multi-millionaire serial entrepreneur and respected voice in business, leadership, and wealth-building.

She is the founder and owner of Deer Valley Home Health Services, Deer Valley Hospice Care, and Ol’ Henry Restaurant, enterprises she has built and scaled over more than eighteen years. Beginning in 2005 with just two clients operating from her home, Lady Ada grew Deer Valley Home Health Services to serve over 1,000 clients across four Missouri locations—North County, Olivette, Maplewood, and Kansas City—earning the organization recognition for excellence in care under its guiding motto, “Your Leader in Home Health.”

Lady Ada’s professional journey includes award-winning work in nursing, education, and healthcare administration, all rooted in a lifelong commitment to service, dignity, and community empowerment. Her leadership philosophy blends operational excellence with compassion, faith, and strategic vision.

She is also the author of From the Concrete Reservation to the Crown Jewel: Ground Zero to Multi‑Millionaire, published by Trilogy Publishing Co., a division of TBN. The book chronicles her extraordinary rise from systemic poverty to prosperity while offering practical lessons on mindset, faith, and disciplined entrepreneurship. The book and accompanying study guide recently received an International Impact Book Award, with Lady Ada being celebrated nationally, including honors in Phoenix, Arizona.

Today, Lady Ada Taylor is a sought-after speaker, mentor, and media personality who inspires audiences across the country through book tours, leadership platforms, and the Millionaires Club STL brand. Her message is clear and uncompromising: where you start does not determine where you finish.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, I had endure many hardships on the road to success but through it all my faith, work ethic and perseverance has played a major role in my success.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Deer Valley Home Health Services was established in 2005 by Ada Joyce Taylor, affectionately known as Lady Ada. Ada Taylor, the dynamic founder and owner of Deer Valley Home Health Services and Ol’Henry Restaurant, was born in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1952 and has been leaving her mark on the city ever since! Possessing a heart to serve, it was no surprise that Mrs. Taylor’s career path led to nursing, an award winning teaching career, and home health administration.

In 2005, Mrs. Taylor was led to start Deer Valley Home Health Services out of her home. She started with 2 clients and her keen business sense, coupled with her heart for the elderly and disabled, has caused that number to catapult to well over 1000 clients. Now with 3 locations in North County, Olivette and Kansas City, Missouri, Deer Valley is continuing it’s legacy of the leader in home health services. In 2014, to celebrate the legacy of her late husband, Chef Henry Taylor, Mrs. Taylor established Ol’Henry Restaurant, where the food is “Taylor” made.

Lady Ada’s leadership style, resourcefulness and generosity to the community prompted two organizations to recognize her as Business Woman of the Year, among many other accolades. In 2020, she established Deer Valley Hospice Care and now provides a continuum of care from infants to the transition from life.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about our city:
What I love most about St. Louis is the people. This city has heart. It’s a place where community still matters, where neighbors look out for one another, and where resilience runs deep. St. Louis shaped me—my values, my work ethic, and my commitment to service. It’s a city rich in history, culture, and untapped potential, and I’m proud to be part of its story and its future.

What I like least about our city:
What I like least is that we sometimes don’t see our own greatness. Too often, St. Louis underestimates itself or allows division and disinvestment to overshadow possibility. I believe we have everything we need right here to thrive—when we invest in our people, support our neighborhoods, and believe in what’s possible, this city can truly soar.
