Hi Jack, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Real estate has been part of my life from the very beginning-even in how I met my wife. We actually got to know each other while taking a real estate investment course, so for me real estate isn’t just a career, it also changed my life personally.

In 2019 we started Doctor Home – We Buy Houses in the St. Louis area, and since then we’ve helped many types of sellers-from families looking to downsize in Saint Charles to investors wanting to sell properties quickly in St. Louis or O’Fallon.

But I don’t see this as “just real estate.” What we really do is solve problems through real estate. I always wanted a career that was interesting, unique, and people focused. The best part of my work is seeing the relief and satisfaction on a seller’s face at the end of the process,that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, we faced plenty of challenges in the beginning. When we started Doctor Home in 2019, we were new to the St. Louis market and had to prove ourselves in a competitive industry. Building trust with sellers was not easy at first-people want to be sure they’re working with a company that will actually deliver on its promises.

Another challenge was learning how to balance the business with our personal lives. Since my wife and I built this company together, we had to create healthy boundaries between work and home, which took time and patience.

We also faced practical struggles-finding the right team members, handling marketing and SEO, and managing the financial side of the business. Real estate is very cash intensive, and learning how to properly manage cash flow was a huge lesson. Every deal is different, timelines can shift, and you have to stay disciplined to keep the business healthy and growing.

On top of that, properties often come with complicated legal or title issues, and sellers may be dealing with emotional situations like foreclosure or inheritance. We had to learn how to solve not just the property problems, but also to support people through very stressful times.

Looking back, these challenges made us stronger. They pushed us to be more professional, more transparent, and more focused on service. Today, the struggles we went through are exactly what allow us to serve homeowners and investors in St. Louis and Saint Charles area at the highest level.

I also love how strong and supportive the local business community is. As someone who works directly with homeowners and investors, it’s inspiring to see how connected people are here.

What I like least is the perception outsiders sometimes have about St. Louis. The city can be underestimated, and people don’t always realize how much opportunity and growth there really is here. Like any city, there are challenges, but I see those as areas with potential for improvement. For me, St. Louis is a place full of opportunity and heart, and I feel proud that Doctor Home is part of this community
