Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was in the roofing business. I was tired of chasing my tail with the insurance companies. So, I asked myself what do old people do cause I didn’t see a retirement in my future. I just knew I would have to work for the rest of my life. I could only picture 1 thing and that was all the old men hosing down their driveway. So that’s how I came up with starting a Softwash company. J O Softwash was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The only hard part was choosing equipment I had 3 complete power wash and Softwash set ups before I found a system that was right for me.

I do low pressure house washing, power washing, surface cleaning, fence and deck refinishing.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Save as much as you can, and you don’t have to invest in the best equipment to get started.
Pricing:
- Soft washing is between $.15- .$25 cents a square foot
- Power washing is between $.20 and $.30 cents a square foot
- Deck and fence refinishing should be between $1.90 and $3 dollars a square foot
