Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Núñez.
Hi Natalia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Peruvian parents who taught me the value of hard work and community. I was always pretty independent and entrepreneurial, I started a bunch of small businesses as a kid because I loved the idea of just creating something and building something out of nothing, that could have a positive impact on someone’s life. Growing up, I’ve always felt like I’ve sort of been at the intersection of 3 different worlds. I grew up in a middle class hispanic household, went to higher income Catholic schools and spent most of my free time in lower income neighborhoods on the basketball court. This showed me how divided our city really was at a young age. It made me determined to create change; at the time, I thought that would be through politics or law.
In college, I started diving deeper into health, culture, and politics. Studying abroad in Spain and traveling to Latin America opened my eyes even more to how different cultures approach wellness and balance. When I eventually made it to New York, I started working at a very exclusive and expensive gym, as a personal trainer and nutritionist and saw firsthand how much the wellness space still lacked inclusivity and authenticity. I realized that the industry had turned health into a commodity; something to buy, optimize, or aestheticize. Through studying in Spain and traveling to Peru, I learned that real results don’t come from hours of cardio, quick fixes, or breaking the bank on the latest gadget or pill that promises results. It comes from the little things you do every day and from the people you surround yourself with. I was tired of seeing women get stuck in this cycle of constantly dieting and over exercising, wasting money and confused as to why they don’t look or feel the way that they want to. This inspired me to create Kallpa, a holistic wellness brand and app that focuses on getting real results that last a lifetime- through movement, nutrition, mindfulness, recovery, and culture. Since launching, I’ve also introduced Kallpa Activewear, a lifestyle line that brings together wellness, culture, and confidence, and started hosting wellness events and community experiences that make the brand come to life.
Most recently, I launched the Kallpa on Campus College Tour, bringing wellness experiences to campuses across the country to help ladies avoid fads, curate a routine, and reach results that actually last. It’s been incredible to connect with young women and help them redefine what wellness looks like for them, beyond trends, fads, or perfectionism.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been easy! My age has always made people second-guess whether I really know what I’m doing or talking about. I just turned 22 a few weeks ago, but I started coaching executives and very high-net-worth individuals when I was 18, which naturally brought a lot of insecurity to me at first. The biggest challenge was overcoming the doubt within myself because once I did that, the doubt from others started to disappear too. You have to have full belief in yourself and your capabilities, and you have to prove yourself right every single day through your actions. I don’t think confidence is something people are just born with or get overnight, I believe it’s something you earn through consistency, discipline, and keeping the promises you make to yourself, every single day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Kallpa?
At Kallpa, we help people achieve real, sustainable fitness and health results through a holistic approach built on culture, community, movement, nutrition, regeneration, and mindset. Our app cuts through the noise of wellness fads and quick fixes by offering a science-backed, systematic approach that’s tailored to your individuality.
What sets Kallpa apart is our belief that culture fuels results. We’re one of the only wellness companies that intentionally integrates culture into our method. Growing up, I never saw myself or my culture represented in the fitness world. I used to feel like I had to give up my grandma’s Peruvian food to reach my goals and dream body, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. With Kallpa, I wanted to build a space where you can celebrate your own culture while also learning from hundreds of others through the lens of wellness.
Beyond our app, we’ve expanded into Kallpa Activewear, a collection designed to move with you from the gym to your everyday life. The fabric feels like butter and is 100% sweat-proof and squat-proof. Our signature invisible sculpting technology gives that “lifted” look without the typical scrunch, keeping you comfortable, confident, and supported through even the hardest workouts.
We also host live, in-person events to bring people together off the screen and build real community. These events are so much more than workouts, they’re full experiences designed to connect, recharge, and celebrate wellness in a fun, approachable way. Typically, we start with a workout, followed by mocktails, facials, massages, food from different cultures, a DJ, and other wellness activations. We’ve hosted events all over the country, but my heart is in the Lou with these events. As I previously mentioned, I grew up seeing just how divided our city is- with these events my goal is to bring people together from all across STL to do something good for theirselves, meet people they might’ve not met otherwise, and have a really fun time.
At its core, Kallpa is about helping people reconnect with themselves, their roots, and their bodies in a way that actually generates results for the long run.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
