Exploring Life & Business with Rosetta Jackson of Arthur R Johnson Community Outreach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosetta Jackson.

Hi Rosetta, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The ARJ Community Outreach actually started due to me not being able to work after having complications due to the birth of our twins. It was very hard for my husband and I to make ends meet on one income trying to raise 5 children. When our twin girls got older, I started my journey with helping other moms with back to school essentials to help ease the burden of them. We named the organization after my father Arthur R Johnson whom died a 2 year prior to the birth of our girls. His heart was bigger than like and he served families with compassion just like I do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road always has its challenges but it’s how you handle them. Challenges brings growth and development. As an organization, the ARJ Community was during fantastic then COVID hit. All the plans we had felt like they vanished in the night and we had to rebuild with a new plan to stay in operation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We’re know as the nice organization. I know that sounds strange but we try to treat everyone with dignity and respect no matter what. We provide services to new moms and babies who can not afford everyday essentials. We also have our food pantry for families who doesn’t have smaller babies or children. We offer our families events; Back to school bash,Community Babyshower, Big Bag Shopping Event Thanksgiving Turkey Drive and Christmas Campaign

What are your plans for the future?
We’re in our planning season. ARJ is Looking to add on more funding streams and resources to better support more families
