Hi Blake and Alex, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2008, our journey began at Louisiana Tech University, both of us pursuing degrees in Architecture. It was in Physics 102 during the spring quarter when fate intervened, introducing us through a mutual friend. Instantly, we found common ground, forging a bond that has endured the test of time. Balancing college with day jobs in the bustling restaurant industry, we navigated late-night studio sessions together, empathizing with each other’s challenges and offering unwavering support.
Throughout our college years, we became synonymous with collaboration, often teaming up on group projects and extending assistance beyond classroom hours. This camaraderie continued even after graduation as we embarked on our professional paths, eventually finding ourselves in Dallas, Texas, employed by prestigious firms like Corgan Associates and later Gensler. Initially joining the aviation team, we honed our skills in large-scale projects, gradually expanding our expertise into diverse architectural realms.
After years of growth and experience, fueled by a desire to carve our own path, we took a leap of faith, founding Parish Line Studio, our very own architectural and interior design firm. Drawing from our accumulated knowledge and inspired by mentors in the industry, we embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, driven by the belief that we possessed the acumen and passion to create something uniquely ours.

Primarily, we feel immensely fortunate to be surrounded by an exceptional support network. Many of our colleagues and friends have actively advocated for us, leading to opportunities to collaborate with remarkable clients. However, the challenges we often encounter revolve around the perception of an architect’s role. Educating clients about the intricate process involved in designing and documenting their projects is a recurring hurdle. It’s crucial for us to convey that creating a tailored architectural solution requires time, effort, and meticulous attention to detail—it’s not something that can be conjured instantly. This aspect of our profession demands patience, communication, and a deep understanding of our clients’ needs and expectations.
