Hi Fredrick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Fredrick “Smoooth” Saunders (Smoooth with 3 o’s) is the Founder and Owner of Smoooth Productions, a full-service media and entertainment company specializing in DJ services, hosting and emceeing, content creation, photography, videography, drone cinematography, custom apparel, and podcast production.
Smoooth’s passion for production began as a young child and continued to grow after joining a band in 2000. That experience sparked a lifelong love for entertainment and production, eventually leading him to become a professional DJ and later launch Smoooth Productions. Since then, he has spent over 20 years creating memorable experiences while helping individuals, businesses, organizations, and communities bring their visions to life.
As a producer, Smoooth oversees four shows, including The Platform Sportstalk Show, The Man Cave, Ladies Night, and Smoooth Conversations, reaching audiences through social media, radio, and streaming platforms.
His personal motto has always been “Make It Happen.” That mindset has guided every chapter of his journey. If there was something he didn’t know, he found a way to learn it, improve it, and make it “Smooother.” That determination, creativity, and willingness to adapt have helped him become a true jack-of-all-trades in the media and entertainment industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While many people know me today as “Smoooth,” the truth is that the road has not always been smooth.
Like many entrepreneurs and creatives, I’ve experienced my share of setbacks, disappointments, and hard lessons. Throughout my journey, I’ve often put my trust in others when collaborating on events, business ventures, and professional partnerships, believing that we shared the same vision, passion, work ethic, and commitment to excellence. Unfortunately, that wasn’t always the case. There were times when individuals did not share the same level of dedication, love for the craft, or long-term goals, leaving me to pick up the pieces and find a way to move forward.
It reminds me that success isn’t about avoiding obstacles—it’s about having the determination, faith, and perseverance to overcome them. Through every challenge, every setback, and every victory, I’ve remained committed to my craft, my family, my community, and my mission of creating opportunities, telling stories, and helping others bring their visions to life.

What sets me apart from others is that I always say, I”m never Better than anyone else or try to be, I’m just “Smooother” and my connection and professionalism with my clients speaks volumes.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
No journey is ever accomplished alone, and mine is no exception.
First and foremost, I want to give special recognition to my Smoooth Productions brothers, Siddall Tha Selecta and DJ Steve Jenks. These are more than friends or business associates—they are family. During one of the most difficult periods of my life, when I suffered a ruptured patella tendon in 2023, they were there for me when I needed support the most. Their loyalty, encouragement, and belief in me never wavered. Since that time, our bond has grown even stronger, and they have become two individuals that I trust wholeheartedly both personally and professionally.
I would also like to thank my band, The Immortal SoulEra, for giving me an opportunity back in 2000 to sit behind the drums and become part of something special. What started as a chance to play music eventually led me to pick up a microphone and develop the confidence to perform in front of audiences. Those experiences laid the foundation for the entertainer, host, producer, and entrepreneur I would later become.
A special thank you goes to my mother, who recognized early on that I had a unique gift and a genuine passion for making people smile through my God-given talents. Her encouragement, guidance, and belief in me helped shape the person I am today and gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams.
To my children, Fredrick Saunders Jr. and my baby girl, Myracle Saunders, thank you for being one of my greatest sources of motivation. Knowing that you look up to me as your hero inspires me every day to continue striving for excellence, setting a positive example, and building a legacy that you can be proud of.
