Hidden Gems: Meet Jacquelyn Roberts of Little Details LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquelyn Roberts

Hi Jacquelyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My sister, Sydney, and I started Little Details in 2024 after a school project that I had where I needed to create, market, and sell a product. I enjoyed the challenge of the project so much that I wanted to explore how to do something in the real world. After seeing something online about pencils, my family and I started discussing the process, options, niches, and markets. With a little more research we were able to source blank pencils, a vintage stamping machine. One of the nearby schools even posted a quote on their billboard sign “A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere”. Seeing that quote was the sign we needed to make this a thought a reality. Together, Sydney and I went to work on a business name, brand, product type, and potential customers.

Since opening in January 2024, we have been hustling to gain business. We have set up multiple pop-up shops at local businesses, trivia nights, and have attended local craft fairs where we were able to display and sell our pre-packaged pencil sets and take custom orders to stamp on site. We have both used our resources and marketing ability to collaborate with other businesses and local small businesses (many thanks to The Kerry Cottage and Ellie Viv!).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The learning process of how to stamp pencils took some time to figure out. There are a lot of variables that have to be considered such as equipment temperature, pencil type, foil colors, and spacing arrangements. Some of the early pencil sets were Valentine’s Day themed with red and pink pencils and white foil. We were becoming frustrated after dozens of failed attempts and trial and error. But, with patience and persistence, we worked through the challenges and are now excellent at our craft to create perfectly stamped pencils onsite for our customers.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Little Details stamps #2 hex pencils with custom names or phrases using a vintage hot foil stamping machine. The pencils are manufactured in the USA and come in a wide variety of colors. Through our creative process, Little Details has created Pre-Packaged Pencil Sets already stamped based on certain themes. Some of the recent themes are related to holidays, events, sports, pop-culture, and positivity. However, Little Details is also set up to customize pencils for all customers and for any occasion.

Pencil sets are sold in a package of 5 pencils.

What sets Little Details apart from the others is our creativity, attention to detail, and our ability to complete orders fast. Customers at the pop-up shops generally receive their orders within 20 minutes of order placement.

Little Details is a small business created and ran by two sisters ages 10 and 8. Together, we have created a business that is personal to us and something that we can directly relate with.
