Hidden Gems: Meet Lamisha Jones of Myseum / MISHA’S House

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamisha Jones

Hi Lamisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a licensed foster parent since 2014, and this year marks a decade—woohoo!

My partner and I took ownership of Myseum in Nov 2023.

In terms of fostering, I’ve cared for over 30 children and currently have four boys. Even after one of my foster children set my house on fire, which left me homeless for nine months, after which I jumped right back into fostering. Serving children is a huge part of me. My drive to assist children inspires me to do more, leading me to establish my nonprofit, MISHA’S House.

Misha’s House is a newly established non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical assistance and support to at-risk foster youth in St. Louis, MO, and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to bridge the gap in resources and support for foster youth by offering group counseling, one-on-one mentoring, training programs, coaching, and various group activities, while also providing assistance to foster parents, caseworkers, and agencies. Additionally, we offer emergency placement services to caseworkers, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in urgent situations. Through these initiatives, we aim to empower foster youth to overcome challenges and achieve success in their lives.
This comprehensive business plan outlines our goals, strategies, and financial projections as we embark on the journey of establishing and expanding Misha’s House. Through collaborative efforts, partnerships, and a holistic approach, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in the foster care system.
