Hidden Gems: Meet Mojo of Mojo Visuals and Healing with Hues

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mojo . Them and their team share their story with us below:

Anthony Renelle Reed II, better known in the Art Community as ‘Mojo,’ is a professional Contemporary Artist based in Miami, FL.

His upbringing in ST. Louis, MO granted him a profound perspective on his personal creative contribution and inspired him to bring uplifting awareness to his community.

“It is my dutiful responsibility to evolve into a beacon of light transmuting my soul’s unique purpose into creative expressions that will uplift the frequency of our collective human existence.”- MOJO

Mojo began his creative career by attending the prestigious Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). He graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in Sequential Art. His unique perspective on visual storytelling has allowed Mojo to enter the Fine Art world with an elevated sense of responsibility. Understanding the importance of people’s interpretation of stories has allowed Mojo to craft detailed and thoughtful works of Art.

Mojo began to gain strong momentum once moving to Miami, FL in 2018. His vibrant depictions of Black American Culture brought a strong sense of purpose to this colorful city. His intentional portraits, insistence on positive representation, and masterful technique quickly put him on the map as an Artist to watch.

His current Partnerships include Nike Inc., When We All Vote with Michelle Obama, Goldman Global Arts, Wynwood Walls, Forbes Magazine, HBOMAX, Viacom, Comcast, Xfinity, Ciroc, and Love. Watts, NBCLX, NBC6 Miami, and of course, Savannah College of Art and Design.

In the summer of 2021, Mojo officially established and registered his 501c3 Non Profit organization titled, Healing with Hues, Inc. The newly founded Healing with Hues, Inc. is focused on three pillars: Community Based Art Initiatives and Activations, Art Therapy, and Youth Development.

Mojo and his board of Directors are passionate about crafting inspiring and impactful visual narratives, mentoring aspiring visual artists, and bringing public fine art to underserved communities.

“On the road to becoming a better person and rediscovering my spirituality, it led me to create artwork and share the unfolding of my being with the world. With that sense of openness, I was able to align myself with others who were on the same mission to serve the community with Art.

I prayed for God to bless every action and step I take toward my desire in serving this world. It has continued to unfold by that powerful grace and love.”-MOJO

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My road was everything but smooth! But, that is why I value the journey of my career. The struggles of traveling to a new place like Miami, meeting new people, and ultimately starting an art business from the ground up taught me so much.

I learned that the “Why?” is more important than the “What?” Truly understanding my purpose in life and strengthening my relationship with God gave me guardrails and a focal point on which to focus my career. This led me to a path of community-driven impact and meaningful artwork.

With my mural artwork, I learned how to always be ready to pivot no matter the hurdles to get the job completed with the highest execution. Also, mural work taught me how to get out of my comfort zone in order to evolve as an artist and businessman.

It showed me that I am always capable to complete any task.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mojo Visuals LLC and Healing with Hues, Inc. (501c3). For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

We specialize in beautifying the communities that raised us! Mojo Visuals, LLC has led the way in being “boots on the ground” in our communities specifically to empower with the language of art. Our authenticity and originality in our business and art practices set us apart from others. We are most proud of our impact on the community thus far. We are also proud that brands like Nike, When We All Vote (with Michelle Obama), Goldman Global Arts, and Wynwood Walls are partners who have aligned with our missions, respectively.

I want the readers to know we are all about authenticity, originality, innovation, and human connectedness with our business practices! We are always looking forward to connecting with businesses that align with our mission and visions.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking?
Risk-taking is everything! Betting on one’s self says a lot about that person’s character. I took the “leap of Faith” to be a full-time Contemporary Artist four and a half years ago. I did not have a backup plan.

I made a firm decision to leave my life fully in my purpose. Utter and complete faith in God and the purpose He designed for me to carry out. I’m so grateful to have believed in God, myself, and my purpose in life and then to ACT on it. Because of that, I’m at this point in my career.

When I work with people, I examine whether or not they are risk takers with positive intentions in mind. It lets me know what they are about! And if the action will follow! I’m a time of artist and businessman who likes to act immediately on pursuits that make sense and leave a positive impression.

So, let’s get to it!
