Hi Scott, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started in 1988 when my parents decided to open a Drycleaners in Lake St. Louis, MO. I was 13 years old, washing shirts and laundry in our Unimac Washer. Fast forward a few years, and I was off to Drycleaning School in Maryland. I came back and applied what I had learned and, a few years later, purchased Lakeview Cleaners from my parents. I went on to grow the company from $160,000 in yearly revenue to $880,000 in yearly revenue. I sold Lakeview Cleaners in 2001 and started down the road of selling laundry equipment and laundry chemicals. In 2012, I started to work for my present employer, RJ Kool Company I took a sales territory selling Unimac laundry equipment from the low six figures to well into seven figures over the last few years, increasing my year-over-year sales every year, In 2019, I started Scott Mueller Sales Consultant LLC and started helping other businesses implement strategies to grow their business. I truly enjoy watching small businesses grow and teaching their owners which lever to push to provide the most leverage for growth. I still sell laundry equipment for RJ Kool Company full time carrying the following brands Unimac, Continental Girbau, Fagor, Speed Queen, Sports Laundry, Girbau Industrial, One Press, Aquawing, LG Commercial, and Maytag Commercial. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning your own business always presents challenges. I quickly learned how to repair Drycleaning equipment to facilitate repairs in-house to keep production running instead of waiting for a technician. I was young with little experience in running a company which presented plenty of learning experiences along the way. My best advice is like the Nike slogan that I will date myself with “JUST DO IT.”

What do you like and dislike about the city?
My favorite part about the STL is the diversity. You can find about anything around the next corner. From The Great Forest Park Balloon Race to countless restaurants, a new adventure always awaits. I prefer to keep things positive, and I believe the City of St Louis is improving and heading in the right direction.
