Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Harvey-Horton.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey started with a deep passion for creating meaningful experiences and opportunities for others. I am the founder of Tiffany Ink, an event planning and creative services brand that I built from the ground up with a vision of bringing people together through intentional, well-designed experiences. As that business grew, so did my desire to create something even more impactful within my local community.
That vision led to the creation of The Suites at Tiffany Ink, located in Fairview Heights, Illinois. I saw a need for a professional, supportive space where beauty, wellness, and service-based entrepreneurs could operate independently while still feeling part of a collaborative environment. Many talented professionals have the skills but not always the resources, visibility, or environment to grow confidently — and I wanted to change that.
What began as an idea quickly turned into a purpose-driven project. I transformed the space into a multi-use suite concept designed specifically for stylists, estheticians, nail techs, brow artists, and wellness professionals who are serious about building their businesses in a positive and elevated setting. From branding and layout planning to community partnerships and tenant support, I’ve been hands-on in every step of the process.
My journey has not been without challenges. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to balance leadership, personal responsibilities, and the realities of growing a business while staying resilient and forward-focused. However, those experiences have strengthened my commitment to building a space rooted in professionalism, empowerment, and community impact.
Today, The Suites at Tiffany Ink is more than just a suite rental space — it is a growing hub for independent professionals who want to thrive in an environment that encourages excellence, collaboration, and growth. Alongside that, I continue to expand Tiffany Ink as a brand while remaining deeply committed to supporting local entrepreneurs and contributing to the economic and creative growth of the Fairview Heights area.
At my core, my journey has always been about building legacy, creating opportunities for others, and turning vision into tangible spaces where people can grow, succeed, and feel inspired.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, and I think that’s the reality of entrepreneurship that people don’t always see behind the scenes. Building The Suites at Tiffany Ink required a significant amount of vision, planning, financial commitment, and hands-on execution, all while managing the responsibilities of running an existing business and maintaining my professional career.
One of the biggest challenges was transforming the space into something functional, elevated, and aligned with my long-term vision while being mindful of budget, timelines, and operational details. From buildout decisions and tenant onboarding to marketing and daily management, there were many moving pieces that required constant attention and problem-solving.
Another challenge has been educating the community on the concept of private suites versus traditional salons. Because this model is still growing in our area, it has taken consistent branding, visibility, and community engagement to help people fully understand the value of an independent suite environment for beauty and wellness professionals.
Additionally, like many business owners, I have navigated personal life challenges while continuing to lead and grow the business. That season required resilience, strong faith, and the ability to stay focused even during emotionally demanding times. Rather than slowing the vision, those experiences strengthened my leadership and deepened my purpose behind creating a stable, empowering space for others to grow their own businesses.
There have also been the normal entrepreneurial hurdles — filling suites, building brand awareness, competing with larger studio concepts, and ensuring consistent tenant satisfaction. However, each challenge has refined my systems, strengthened my communication, and reinforced the importance of structure, community, and intentional growth.
Looking back, while the road has not been easy, every obstacle has played a role in shaping The Suites at Tiffany Ink into a resilient, purpose-driven business. The challenges have not only built the brand, but they have also built me into a more strategic, compassionate, and forward-thinking leader.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Suites at Tiffany Ink is a multi-use beauty, wellness, and professional suite collective located in Fairview Heights, Illinois, created to support independent entrepreneurs in the beauty and wellness industry. The space was intentionally designed for hairstylists, estheticians, nail technicians, brow artists, and wellness professionals who desire a private, elevated, and professional environment to serve their clients while building and operating their own brands.
What sets us apart is that we are more than just a suite space — we are a community-centered business hub. I focus on creating a supportive, polished, and empowering atmosphere where independent professionals can thrive, collaborate, and grow with confidence while maintaining full ownership of their businesses. Our clean aesthetic, all-inclusive environment, and intentional leadership approach allow professionals to focus on delivering exceptional service without the limitations of traditional salon settings.
In addition to offering a range of beauty and wellness services, including luxury hair extensions, brows and threading, skincare, nail services, scalp health experiences, and wellness offerings, we also prioritize community engagement through workshops, outreach initiatives, and collaborative events that support both our suite professionals and the local community. Our goal is to create an ecosystem where entrepreneurship, professionalism, and community impact coexist under one roof.
I am especially proud of what we have been able to build in under a year. Since opening our doors, The Suites at Tiffany Ink has grown into a purpose-driven space that supports independent beauty, wellness, and service-based professionals while serving the Fairview Heights community with excellence. As April 1 marks our one-year anniversary, this milestone represents more than growth — it reflects vision, resilience, and the intentional foundation we have created to foster entrepreneurship, community impact, and long-term success.
We are also proud to be a recognized business in Fairview Heights and a member of the O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce, as community alignment and local impact are core to our mission and long-term vision. At its core, The Suites at Tiffany Ink represents opportunity, leadership, and legacy — a space where professionals build their brands, clients experience elevated beauty and wellness services, and the community benefits from a thoughtfully curated and professional environment designed to thrive.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was naturally driven, observant, and very intentional, but my childhood was especially shaped by two strong influences in my household. My mother worked for a chemical company, Monsanto, and later retired before beginning her entrepreneurial journey as the owner of Helen’s Restaurant, a Soul Food restaurant in East St. Louis, Illinois that left a lasting legacy in the community. Watching her transition from a structured corporate career into business ownership taught me resilience, operational discipline, and the importance of serving people with excellence. Being raised in the restaurant from a young age gave me early exposure to leadership, customer service, and the day-to-day realities of running a business that truly impacted the community.
At the same time, my father worked in public service for the State of Illinois, which introduced me early to professionalism, structure, and sound decision-making. He emphasized discipline, accountability, and business acumen, and he always encouraged me to think strategically and long-term. Between my mother’s entrepreneurial spirit and my father’s public service foundation, I was raised in an environment that valued leadership, responsibility, and community impact.
Personality-wise, I was organized, future-focused, and ambitious. I enjoyed planning, helping others, and creating positive, welcoming environments. Even at a young age, I gravitated toward leadership roles and situations where I could bring ideas to life in a structured way. I wasn’t just creative — I was also very detail-oriented and purposeful, which has carried into how I operate today as a business owner.
I also developed a deep appreciation for community early on. Watching my mother build relationships through her restaurant and seeing my father’s commitment to serving the public showed me that success is not just about growth, but about impact and legacy. Those experiences shaped my mindset and ultimately led me toward a professional path in business development and entrepreneurship.
Looking back, the blend of corporate discipline, entrepreneurship, and public service that surrounded me growing up truly laid the foundation for who I am today. In many ways, The Suites at Tiffany Ink reflects those same values — structure, community, leadership, and the intentional creation of a space where others can grow, succeed, and leave their own legacy.
