Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany McNutt.
Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am from St. Louis, born and raised. I completed my college education at the University of Central Missouri with a B.S. in Sociology. I always thought my career would land somewhere within youth services, but entering the real world quickly opened my eyes.
My direction then shifted to corporate America. Although corporate hasn’t been unbearable, it became important to me to have something of my own, something I could build, branch, and expand. In 2019, I started my business, B. Flawless Extensions.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all! The struggle of starting a business in an already oversaturated market was scary! I had an extremely slow start because, in the hair industry, it’s hard to convince people to take a chance on purchasing your product when there are already so many places they could spend their money on knowingly good products.
Once my customer base started to expand things were great, but then there were the complaints I started to receive from unsatisfied customers and inconsistent products from vendors that I had no control over. It can be overwhelming, it can get discouraging, and it made me question at times if I should just stop! but then I’d think about all of the reasons I started, the customers I’ve made happy, and the fact that I am doing something that I genuinely love.
It makes it all worth the struggles that I encountered. I look at everything as a learning experience, so instead of questioning if this is something I should continue to pursue, I look for ways to make it better and improve.

I believe in the beauty industry, especially for women, It can be very expensive to look good, and everyone knows when you look good, you feel good. So, my mission is to provide premium quality hair without breaking your bag to do so!
Also, while providing superb customer service which is what I pride my business on. In 3 years, I have come so far as an entrepreneur and the crazy thing is, it feels as if I’m just getting started. Although I’ve done well in these past 3 years, I know there is still so much more for me to learn and accomplish, so I am very excited for the future and all that B. Flawless has to offer. There will definitely be more to come!

Taking risks for your dreams creates a different type of fire in a person. I’ve taken plenty of financial risks for my business, but I haven’t taken the ultimate leap of leaving corporate just yet, although that is the goal in all.
I applaud and admire those who have risked everything for their dream. To me, this is a true passion.
