Inspiring Conversations with Daniel Ingram of Metros.co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Ingram.

Hi Daniel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
MetrosArtwork started with a camera, a vision, and a passion for telling stories. Growing up in St. Louis, I was inspired by the city’s culture, creativity, and movement something that would later influence the name Metros. What began as taking photos for friends and campus organizations quickly grew into a professional creative brand dedicated to helping people celebrate their milestones and share their stories.

Founded in 2020, Metros has evolved from a photography service into a visual storytelling brand focused on photography, design, and creative content. Through years of learning, networking, and refining my craft while attending Missouri Western State University, I’ve had the opportunity to work with graduates, entrepreneurs, student organizations, and community leaders, creating work that captures authentic moments and meaningful experiences.

Today, Metros is built on the belief that every person has a story worth telling. Whether it’s a graduation, business launch, personal brand, or special milestone, our mission is to create visuals that not only look great but leave a lasting impact. Our slogan, “Built from the Metro. Made to Move Culture,” reflects our commitment to celebrating culture, creativity, and the people who inspire it every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many small businesses, Metros started with limited resources, and building a brand from the ground up required a lot of patience, consistency, and self-investment. In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was gaining visibility and convincing people to trust a young creative with their important moments.

Balancing school, leadership responsibilities, and running a growing business was another challenge. There were times when I had to learn new skills, manage tight schedules, and navigate setbacks while continuing to deliver quality work to clients.

However, those challenges helped shape the business into what it is today. Every obstacle taught me something about entrepreneurship, creativity, and resilience. The struggles pushed me to improve my craft, strengthen my brand, and stay committed to the vision. Looking back, those experiences were necessary because they helped build the foundation for the growth and opportunities Metros has today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Metros is a creative media and visual storytelling brand founded in 2020. We help people celebrate milestones, share their stories, and preserve meaningful moments through photography, design, and content creation. What began as a passion for photography has grown into a brand serving graduates, entrepreneurs, organizations, and individuals. As we continue to evolve, we are expanding beyond photography to offer a broader range of creative media services that help clients tell their stories across multiple platforms and formats.

We are best known for portrait and graduation photography, creating experiences that help clients feel confident, celebrated, and seen. From branding shoots and events to creative campaigns, we focus on telling authentic stories through intentional visuals.

What sets Metros apart is our commitment to culture, community, and connection. We see clients as people with unique stories worth documenting, approaching every project with creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Built from the ground up while still in college, Metros has grown through word-of-mouth, strong community relationships, and a dedication to serving clients. We are honored to capture important moments, from graduations and achievements to business launches and special events.

At its core, Metros is about creating lasting memories and helping people tell their stories with confidence. Our slogan, “Built from the Metro. Made to Move Culture,” reflects our belief that creativity has the power to inspire, connect, and leave a lasting impact. As we continue to grow, our goal remains the same: to provide meaningful visual experiences that people can be proud of for years to come.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about St. Louis is the culture and strong sense of community. It’s a city packed with creativity, history, and pride, and there are so many talented people starting businesses, making art, and doing great things. Growing up around that kind of energy had a huge influence on what eventually became Metros. The city’s diversity and support for local talent have played a big part in both my personal and professional growth.

I also love that St. Louis has its own personality. From the neighborhoods and sports scene to the music, food, and local businesses, everything feels genuine and authentic. It’s a city that helped shape who I am and still inspires a lot of the work I do today.

If I had to pick something I like least, it would be that St. Louis doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. There’s so much talent, innovation, and opportunity here, but people outside the city often only hear the negative headlines. There are so many individuals and organizations doing amazing things, and I’d love to see more of those positive stories get the spotlight.

Overall, St. Louis will always feel like home. It’s where I discovered my passion, built lasting relationships, and created the foundation for my brand. The city’s culture, resilience, and creativity are a big reason why Metros exists today.
