Inspiring Conversations with Shronda Armstrong of Geaux Queen Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shronda Armstrong.

Shronda Armstrong

Hi Shronda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up, I often felt overlooked and faced bullying, which led to a lack of self-confidence. In my early adulthood, I found myself in a toxic relationship that further pushed me away from my true self. However, I eventually embraced self-love and healing, which transformed my life.

In 2019, I reached a breaking point in my career, feeling undervalued and exhausted. I decided to take a risk and follow my dreams, creating the “Geaux Queen” brand to empower Black women to love themselves and pursue their true purpose. Today, I am dedicated to helping others find their purpose and achieve their dreams through purpose coaching and motivational support. Geaux Queen originally started out as t-shirts. After a few months, I created The Q-Chat Podcast. It has been a dream come true interviewing people that I have admired along with amazing women who are out here doing amazing and inspirational things! Now Geaux Queen also has our new print/digital magazine!

I am proud to wake up each day and continue to work hard on building the dream for my family and their future. I want to be an inspiration to other women to follow their dreams as well!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has certainly not been a smooth road. I’ve faced numerous struggles along the way, from battling insecurity and childhood bullying to navigating toxic and abusive relationships. Early adulthood was particularly challenging, as I lacked a clear understanding of what a healthy relationship should look like and found myself in situations that almost derailed my life. Professionally, I encountered frustration and mistreatment, especially as a minority in my workplace, which only added to the pressure. However, these struggles taught me valuable lessons about self-love, resilience, and the importance of pursuing my true purpose. Each obstacle was a stepping stone that helped me grow stronger and more determined to empower others through Geaux Queen.

Also, I learned a lot of life lessons regarding receiving support and creating genuine connections. I have met some amazing people but I have also met a lot of people since starting this journey that were life lessons. Not everyone you encounter when you have a dream is really on your side. Unfortunately, I learned that some people either want to see you win or want to see you fail as hard as possible. Both sets of these people are still smiling in your face. Along this road, I strengthened my discernment and learned to walk alone when I needed to.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Our mission is to inspire and motivate women to break free from societal expectations and live their lives to the fullest potential. Our brand is a reflection of resilience, empowerment, and the belief that every woman is worthy of happiness and success. I am particularly proud of our ability to connect with and uplift women who have faced similar struggles, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive.

I am most proud of the growth that Geaux Queen has achieved. From our podcast to our magazine, in addition to my public speaking engagements, Geaux Queen Media has made huge steps in growing stronger to become a brand that people can remember for many years to come.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I anticipate the personal development industry to focus more on mental health, integrate technology for accessibility, prioritize diversity and inclusion, foster community building, emphasize authenticity, and adopt sustainable practices. These shifts reflect a more holistic and inclusive approach to personal growth. I also think that the podcast trend will continue to evolve into more on talk shows with unique topics and hosts, in addition to an evolution of digital television networks.
