La’ Relle Brown of Woodridge on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to La’ Relle Brown. Check out our conversation below.

La’ Relle , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What battle are you avoiding?
Right now I’m battling the ups, and downs of my physical health. Although I am not extremely overweight, I am not in what I consider peak physical condition. After graduating college and finishing my basketball career I have not been as active as I once was. Mentally it takes a toll on me, but everyday I try to better myself by getting a bit more active daily and weekly!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is La’Relle Brown my artist name is LBSUPREMEG! I’ve been an artist for over a decade. I once interned for one of my favorite hiphop artists A$AP ANT. Helping him with his brand Marino Infantry. And this year I opened up for Waka Flocka Flame an iconic hiphop artist from Atlanta. Currently I am building my YouTube channel and golf brand. To further my creativity and athletic abilities! Plus I’m working on my sophomore music project “Cherries Jubilee”!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I would say when I was about 11 or 12 years old. My great grandmother had passed away. It was during the week of my last baseball tournament of the summer. I was raised by my grandparents and they had to leave to cater to other family members for her funeral. I stayed behind with my teammates and their families. To finish out the tournament. Ironically my team made it to the championship game. I was the closing pitcher in that game and I closed out the game with 8 or 9 strikeouts and a win for our time. Also my 1st time wining a first place trophy. In my mind I knew I needed this win to give our family a sense of joy, from all the grief we were enduring.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I’m in this position everyday. A few months ago I became discouraged because I wasn’t getting the viewership I thought I should have gotten. Days would go by of posting 10-20 times a day. And nothing no feedback. An randomly one day I thought of just stopping but something said “make one more post” so I did just that. To my surprise the next morning I received over 400+ new subscribers on my YouTube channel. Taking all my doubts away and giving me the new found inspiration to give back to my community! I will be forever grateful for that moment!

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
I would say my faith and religion. Even now in this questionnaire I will not go into depth. But I feel that my God Jehovah. Continues to make himself known through me and my creativity. I value my relationship with the grand creator more than any other. I seek his knowledge and compassion for everything I do. Now do I speak about this much! Almost never. But to the few that know, they understand how important it is to me to have this connection. Most people don’t believe in God, but for me it’s a no brainer. Should I share it more….absolutely! But for now it’s pretty much only a conversation I’ll have it I think a person is truly interested enough to learn or debate it.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop doubting myself. I often don’t put out 70% of the creations I make. And I doubt myself on some opportunities that I could have. If I stop the doubt the truth and great results can happen at any time!
