We recently had the chance to connect with Laura Albers and have shared our conversation below.
Laura, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to step into visibility, show up imperfectly, and boldly share my beliefs. For years, I hid behind perfection and the ‘traditional’ advice of building a business with a signature program and website—but it didn’t work for me or the newbie wellness coaches I serve.
I’ve realized my clients don’t need me perfectly polished; they need me real, strategic, and willing to go first. The very things I once feared—selling boldly, speaking on bigger stages, and sharing my perspective—are now what I’m embracing, because every time I do, I give other women permission to do the same. So it’s not that the fear goes away, it’s that the fear doesn’t get to be in the driver seat anymore.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey there—I’m Laura Albers, Business Coach + Certified Copywriter, and I help newbie wellness coaches ditch the overwhelm, nail their business foundations, and finally start hitting those $5k+ months. I’m all about simple strategies, copy that actually resonates (without sounding salesy), and freeing up your time so you can stop spinning your wheels and start signing clients.”
What makes my work unique is I don’t follow the traditional ‘build a big signature program and a fancy website and then hope they’ll come’ advice. I’ve lived that path myself, and it left me stuck for YEARS. Instead, I teach a simpler, smarter way—starting small with a mini-offer that solves 1 hyper-specific problem to get new clients in the door, personalized collaborations over social media, and clear messaging that has your ideal clients say, “Wow, I gotta work with her!”
I love blending my 20+ years as a mental health therapist with my copywriting skills to help coaches not only with strategy, but also with mindset—because both are essential to building a business you love.
Right now, I’m excited about launching The Business Foundations Playbook—an all-in-one AI-powered marketing and messaging sidekick—and relaunching my Make Money Now course, where I help coaches create an irresistible mini-offer, craft their compelling sales pages that acts as their website to start, and launch with confidence, even if they’re just starting out and dread social media.
My mission? To make business simple, strategic, and fun—especially for coaches at the very beginning.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my dad. Off the top of my head, I can count at least 10 businesses he’s started—from a bait and tackle shop to a deli and pizzeria to our family fireworks business. Some ventures were born from fun and ingenuity, some were short-term projects he later sold, and some—like the fireworks business—stood the test of time, celebrating 40 years this year.
What stands out to me is that I never once heard my dad use the word failure or get stuck in overthinking. He’s a natural problem-solver and action-taker.
From a young age, I watched him pour his heart, grit, and humor into building something lasting—not just businesses, but a legacy. He showed me that work isn’t about punching a clock; it’s about showing up with integrity, treating people well, and creating experiences that bring joy to others. That lesson shaped me, and it’s exactly how I run my business today—leading with service, building genuine relationships, and finding joy in the process, even when things get tough.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to stop taking life (and particularly business) so seriously; meaning you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. Stop waiting for perfect (which never comes anyway), stop comparing, and trust that your messy action will teach you more than endless planning ever will.
You WILL have missteps, mistakes, and “failures” along the way and those too, stop taking so seriously. You will survive and those very lessons will one day become the exact wisdom you’ll use to guide and inspire others.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Mel Robbins. Sure, she’s a #1 New York Times bestselling author, award-winning podcast host, and the most trusted expert in personal growth, with 28 million followers…but what I admire most is her courage to say the things everyone else is thinking but too afraid to voice. She has this rare ability to make you feel like you’re sitting on her couch, cocoa in hand, fire crackling, just talking life. She boldly owns her flaws and imperfections, and that kind of honesty and relatability is what makes her truly inspiring to me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Honestly, I feel like I’m tap dancing to work (well…across the hall to my desk) right now. I’ve never felt more sure, secure, or creative than I have in the past six months. Between playing with ChatGPT, creating custom AI bots, and fully leaning into messaging as the foundation of every business, I’m lit up by how I can help my clients craft words that actually sound like them. I’m also teaching them to start with simple Mini-Offers (not huge signature programs) and to focus on genuine collaborations and personal outreach over chasing social media trends. AI is reshaping everything, and instead of fearing it, I’m excited to use it to spark authentic connection and community. It feels like such an alive, innovative season in my business.
