We recently had the chance to connect with Laura Cross and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day is my self-care time! I wake up naturally with no alarms between 5 and 5:45 am. I take my Service dog, Skeeter Bug out and then feed him while making my fiance’s lunch. Then I make my protein drink, sit down in the recliner and put my ear buds in so I can listen to 12 minutes of frequency audio files while writing in a journal (90-day challenge, affirmations, goals, etc.), and then I either listen to an inspirational podcast/speaker, a training/update video for one of my product lines, or I will read a self-improvement book. If I am listening to something, then I will also work on my cross stitch or walk on the treadclimber. At the end of 90-minutes I go get cleaned up and start my day! It just depends on what I feel is right for me on that day. It is never the exact same day in and day out as you can burn yourself out with the same routine even if it is self-care.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Laura’s Story – I worked a lot of years in corporate jobs and spent 4 years in the military, but when my husband died at the age of 36 everything changed. I realized how precious life is and that I was not truly happy working in these different career fields. I knew there was something more for me, I just didn’t know what it was at the time. It took several years of trying different things and moving to a different environment for me to discover who I truly am and what my path is.
Laura’s Brand – I have always been drawn to the water and dolphins. I feel that it is a true representation of who I am. Someone who has a playful spirit, always curious to learn new things, and love connecting with like-hearted people to share new ideas with. Gliding through each day with ease and seeing what waves come next. Helping others to find their peace and calm. Working together because together we can do more!
I am currently helping others to detect the root cause of their discomfort and/or “dis-ease” with the AO Voice Scan. 10 seconds of your voice and we can see what your body is telling you. Your body is telling you all the time what it needs, you just need to know how to listen to it. Building a team of people who want to remove toxins from their bodies and environment to live a healthier lifestyle.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I always felt like I had something to prove or live up to. Most people I know where influenced by their parents, siblings, friends, etc. However, I realize now that it was my perception of what was said or done. It may not have been their intention, but it was my perception of things led me to become a follower, people pleaser, and a perfectionist. I was always the quiet and shy one that did not like confrontations or to be called on for things because I always worried about saying the wrong thing or being picked on. I didn’t see things the way others did. Back then we just called it being picked on, and today it is bullying and today it is at a whole new level.
Today, I am almost completely opposite. I am perfectly imperfect, I make decisions that feel right and aligned with who I am, and I meet people where they are at and offer support. There are mentors and leaders that I will follow, but I will not lose who I am in the process. I know now that not everyone is going to be your friend, like what you have to say, or agree with you and that is okay. I do not need anyone’s approval but my own. I have to feel good about what I am doing, why I am doing it, and how it makes me feel. After all, it is my life and my choice. We do not have to agree or like what others do or choose, but we have the choice to change ourselves, walkaway, or agree to disagree. If you don’t like who you are or who you are becoming in your current circle of influence, then change your circle.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If there was one thing that I could say to my younger self it would be that you are enough and listen to what your gut is telling you and not all the noise around you. If people do not relate to you, that’s okay, they are just not your people. You will find your path and your people.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version that you see of me is the real me. I believe in being authentic, perfectly imperfect, honest, and true to myself. I also believe in being transparent. Whatever mistakes or success I make or don’t make are mine and no one else’s. If it can help someone else from making the same mistake or learn something than that is great.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do. To create a judgement free community where people can be heard and seen, but not judged or criticized for who they are. To connect and collaborate with other like-hearted and like-minded individuals to make the world a better place and treat people like decent human beings. To come together and support one another in taking control of our own health and well-being holistically. I already spent too many years doing what I thought I was supposed to do. Now I do what lights me up inside!
