Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Amethyst Roberson of County

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Amethyst Roberson. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Amethyst, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
A normal day for me starts early with quiet time—coffee in hand, scripture, and prayer—so I can ground myself before stepping into the needs of others. My mornings are often dedicated to client sessions, whether I’m helping women process trauma, guiding couples through rebuilding trust, or certifying coaches. Afternoons might be spent creating content, developing programs, or meeting with partners on community projects. Evenings are my time to reflect, jot down ideas, and check in with loved ones. My days are full, but they’re fueled by the joy of seeing people heal, grow, and realize they’re capable of more than they thought.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Amethyst Roberson—a licensed therapist, national speaker, and founder of A R Therapy & Consulting and the Healing Her™ brand. I help women and couples heal from trauma, rebuild trust, and set healthy boundaries, while also certifying coaches to create lasting impact in their communities. My work blends clinical expertise with faith-based principles, creating spaces that are both therapeutic and transformative. What makes my brand unique is our commitment to practical healing—action steps you can use today—paired with deep emotional and spiritual insight. Right now, I’m developing new programs, books, and community events that keep mental health approachable, relatable, and empowering.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My relationship with my parents shaped how I see myself in profound ways. They taught me resilience—not always through words, but through watching how they navigated life’s challenges. I learned the value of hard work, faith, and resourcefulness, but also the importance of unlearning patterns that didn’t serve my emotional health. That balance—honoring the good while growing beyond the limitations—has shaped my work and my identity. It’s why I help others heal, set boundaries, and rewrite the narratives they’ve inherited.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back the most was the fear of being misunderstood. For years, I worried that if I spoke my truth—especially about trauma, faith, and healing—it would be misinterpreted or judged. That fear kept me quiet in moments I should’ve been bold. Over time, I realized that staying silent didn’t protect me—it just dimmed the impact I was called to make. Now, I speak with clarity and conviction, knowing that the right people will hear my heart.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the mental health and coaching industry is that healing is “one-size-fits-all” and can be wrapped up neatly in a few sessions or a single program. Another is the idea that professionalism means keeping things distant and clinical—when in reality, authentic connection is often what breaks barriers. There’s also a tendency to separate faith from therapeutic work, as if they can’t coexist. I’ve seen firsthand that when evidence-based tools and spiritual wisdom come together, transformation runs deeper and lasts longer.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think my clients and customers would miss the way I make healing feel both safe and actionable. They’d miss the blend of compassion, straight-talk, and faith that helps them feel seen without staying stuck. Many tell me it’s the way I can sit with their deepest pain, but also hand them practical steps to move forward—that mix of heart and strategy is hard to replace.
