Carley Klein shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Carley, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me both laugh and feel proud is when I booked my 400th wedding! I felt an overwhelming sense of pride while chuckling to myself and tears streaming down my face. Not only was I crying happy tears, but also tears in awe of God’s goodness and the role it has played in my entire career. Little did I know that my pipe dream at 19 years old would mature into an established business by the time I was 25. My first wedding ever was in August of 2020 and by August of 2025, I’ve had 400 on my books. An absolute surreal moment!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Carley Klein, and I started Carley Jeans Floral in 2019 as a college student. It was my sophomore year when I fell in love with flowers and decided to pursue them wholeheartedly. Fast forward to 2025, and CJF is a full-time wedding flower business with hundreds of weddings under our belt, as well as several employees. I believe that something interesting about my journey with flowers is it all started in a grocery store floral department and bloomed into a life changing career.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Without a doubt, the two most influential people that sculpted my work-ethic have been my parents, Mark and Linda Gubera. Both being entrepreneurs themselves, I have learned that you can’t cheat the grind. I grew up with my parents constantly managing their businesses and work schedules. Hearing and watching the way they interacted with people, along with always setting new goals, really influenced the way that I currently run my business. I am truly grateful for the opportunities that they have gave me so that I could pursue my passions and dreams.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
No, not really! There have definitely been times that it has become challenging to run a business and there are still times now, but thankfully, the people around me and my faith have helped me overcome every obstacle thus far.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
My husband’s. Drew is my steady hand and the perfect sounding board for my life. He always seems to have a solution for every problem I face. I know that no matter what my business looks like or issues that arise, Drew will be there to help me through it and be the ultimate problem solver. He has played this role since the beginning. I love him!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I tend to be most at peace after a wedding setup has been completed. The feeling of finally executing months, or sometimes even years of planning someone’s dream florals, is unlike any other feeling.
