We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jada Calicutt. Check out our conversation below.
Jada, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time that I felt true joy, I was in the delivery room with one of clients who was giving birth to her first child. She had been laboring naturally and unmedicated for 14 long hours, riding the waves of her contractions, profusely, and Un relentlessly working her baby down the birth canal, her baby boy finally made his arrival, and she laid there gleaming with strength, beauty, and valor. I was so proud of her!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jada Calicutt, I am 30 years old. I am a wife to my cyber savvy husband Lance, and mother to five children. I am passionate about Jesus, women, families, motherhood, and birth. Motherhood is where my fire and passion ignited, My journey began with a great loss, I took that pain and turned it into purpose. Creating a 501c3 non profit “The Londyn Foundation”, named after my 23 week baby born still, supporting and inspiring those who have already experienced life shattering losses, and giving them hope. And aiding in prevention of further loss through advocacy work, education, and raising awareness,
I continue my advocacy work through being a labor & birth Doula at my company “The River of Life Doula Services” where we provide holistic, person centered, and safe birth support, this foot work helps to provide care that helps to mitigate poor maternal health outcomes, and create better maternal health outcomes, so that women can be empowered in their motherhood journey’s. I believe that stronger and healthy mothers create stronger families, and stronger families create stronger communities, stronger families create a stronger world.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Pain, offense, sins, hurt breaks the bonds between people, I’ve experienced all of these, while also committing them, and what I’ve found is that forgiveness is what restores the bonds between people, and it sets you free to be able to love with no restraints.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The most defining wounds of my life have been loss, I healed them by helping others. Simple. There has been so much purpose, healing, and life through helping others, pointing others to hope, and helping them navigate life altering pain.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A project that I am committed to no matter how long it takes is helping people to heal and find purpose in pain
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story that I would want people to tell about me when I’m gone is that I endured until the end and lived life in passion and on purpose.
