We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kookie Womack . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Kookie , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Tbh im doing both walking and wandering
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
To start of as you know last time we talked I went by Oskbobbie I recently reinvented myself and changed my name to Kookie Womack And Osk is my label.
When it come to my craft and what I bring to the table is simply to PUT “ME” . Im bring a sound THATS we listen to in my in St. Louis. But people got a one side mind about my city so im here to help change the view on THE STL IN MUSIC . Yes I got a past but THATS not the path in on I want my fan to build with me take this new journey alone with me . yes I came the streets of westside of St. Louis but I made it out and moved to Memphis live in the best part of Memphis to me FRAYSER LOCWOOD AVE . Im just bring a taste of the south with my country vibes but all around my St. Louis swagger style i call it HOODR&B .
I got 2 songs currently finna drop soon so be on the lookout for those . But yeah I’m just starting over rebranding got a better vision.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a street dude i grew up in my hood born and raised in. I was supposed to be a lowlife dead or in jail that what they wished on me but Look at me now IM HERE
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I thought me to handle things in a different light fr . Everybody in St. Louis city got some type of struggle but we was raised different from different people in other cities. We handle ours with normal intentions cause we use to it THATS how we came up we can make it outta any storm.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Chief keef had always been my favorite rapper hands down . It’s other people i can say i get inspired by but chief has always been my favorite rapper fasho .
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
The only thing I regret is not taken my music seriously when I was way younger.
