Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Lisa Marcia of Florissant

Lisa Marcia shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Lisa , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I realize now that what I once feared is exactly what God was preparing me for. He’s given me the strength not only to heal myself, but also to guide others through their own storms. I’ve been called to ministry—to use my voice and my story to remind women of their worth and of God’s power. That calling led me to create my podcast, Pain Never Looked This Good. It’s not just a podcast—it’s a movement, a space where beauty meets breakthrough, and where faith transforms pain into purpose.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Lisa Marcia, and I’m the founder and voice behind Pain Never Looked This Good—a podcast and movement where beauty meets breakthrough. I’ve built my brand in the beauty industry as a cluster lash artist and educator, helping women look and feel beautiful while also creating a space to talk about the deeper layers of healing and transformation. What makes my work unique is that I merge beauty with faith and storytelling—I’m not just doing lashes, I’m showing women that behind the glam, there’s power in their testimony. Right now, I’m focused on growing both my lash business and my podcast, using them as platforms to remind women that their pain can birth their purpose

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The one who saw me most clearly before I could see myself has always been God. He’s been calling me long before I understood it—guiding me, shaping me, and preparing me for my purpose. Even in my doubts and fears, He never wavered in His vision for who I was meant to be.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain the moment I realized that my story could be a gift—not just for me, but for others. Through faith and reflection, I understood that my experiences weren’t meant to keep me small—they were meant to shape me, teach me, and empower me to guide others. That’s when I began to fully embrace my journey, transform my pain into purpose, and use it as a platform to pour into women through my business, my ministry, and my podcast.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is a reflection of my growth, but it’s not the whole story. What people see is polished, confident, and radiant, but behind that is a journey of healing, faith, and transformation. I stay true to myself and I’m always real and raw,.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
What I’m doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years is building a life, a business, and a legacy for my kids. Every sacrifice, every late night, every decision I make is to ensure they inherit generational wealth, values, and a foundation of faith. I’m not just building for the now—I’m building a future they can step into with confidence, purpose, and abundance.
