Good morning Rachel, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up and walk my dog Sherman around our neighborhood, The Hill. Then I come home and most days head to work. I’m a teacher. Weekends however, look like is getting in the car and heading for morning coffee and pup cup for Sherman boi.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Rachel Heimos/Shawn Powers- co-owners of Mud City Soaps.

We both work full time jobs, however own and operate Mud City together in our free time. We really both loved using bar soap and one day thought, let’s try making it ourselves. After some initial research into how to make and then design the bars. We were ready to try on our own. We found a local shop that let us purchase some ingredients and materials, and then that was it, that was the beginning of Mud City. We been making soap ever since.

We have been cureating our hand made soaps for 8 years now. Six of which are under our offical LLC, establishing Mud City offically in 2019.

The first two years were spent experimenting and really refining our recipe, ingredients, designs, and what was most important to us to include in our soap bar.

We wanted to to be sure to incorporate whole ingredients that were going to help heal customers skin.

Currently we are getting ready to start batching ALL the soap for the 2025-2026 season. Are initial batch will be 500lbs of soap.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My dog Sherman boi.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Self Confidence.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Trust

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
