Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Tiffany Mariie of Saint Louis

We recently had the chance to connect with Tiffany Mariie and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
The thought of someone really loving me, and then I remember self love is the best love.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“My name is Tiffany Mariie, and I am a spoken word poet who blends vulnerability with power, softness with edge. I represent Saint Louis in both my voice and my verses—where my poetry carries the grit of the streets and the grace of a woman who’s healed through her art.

I don’t just write poems—I speak truths that many are too afraid to say out loud. My brand lives in the raw, the real, and the unapologetic. I write for the women who’ve been told they’re too much, too loud, too bold—and I remind them that ‘too much’ is exactly enough.

Right now, I’m working on expanding my reach, hitting stages across the country, and using poetry to start conversations that matter. Whether it’s through punchlines, metaphors, or intimate storytelling, everything I do is rooted in turning pain into power and poetry into purpose.”

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Standing up for myself, when no one thought I would. Thinking I would stay, quiet and finally speaking up and using my voice.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There has been plenty of times when I gave up. I attempted suicide twice in my life, spent time in a hospital realizing that, the hospital wasn’t what I needed. I needed love, I needed comfort, I needed support, I needed conversation. Many times that had me feeling ugly and creating insecurities within myself.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
I’m very smart, and very funny when I want to be but closed off. Very expressive when I’m mad but the nicest person you’ll ever meet. Will give you the clothes off of my back and figure out what I will wear later. I’m a very caring person but can be mean but I promise I’m not mean, it’s trauma and I’m working.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I always give everything my best, my 100% all the time because I treat people and things how I want to be treated. Also, it’s not for them it’s for me so as long as I give it 100% of me every time that’s all that matters. I grew up doing what I thought would make folks happy and love me more, care about me more and that never got me there, so I started to love myself more and what I do, as as long as I’m true to me I don’t care who sees who watching, who comments, who shares, who supports.
