Life & Work with Brienne Cason Kaylee Kreutzberg of Glen Carbon, IL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brienne Cason Kaylee Kreutzberg.

Hi Brienne Cason, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We are Brienne (Brie) and Kaylee, the owners of 3 Arrows pediatric therapy. We first met in 2015 while working together another pediatric clinic, where we quickly became close colleagues and friends. Over time, we bonded, not only through working side-by-side, but also through our shared experiences of pregnancy and motherhood, quickly becoming each other’s workplace “person.” In addition to our natural personal connection, we realized we shared many of the same specialized interests within the field of speech-language pathology. After pursuing advanced training in early speech and language development, feeding, and myofunctional therapy, it became clear that we brought complementary strengths and a shared vision to our work. We began to see that, together, we offered something unique and meaningful to the families in our community. Our combined personal and professional experiences shaped our approach and strengthened our belief that we could make strong partners in running a practice centered on empathy, a holistic approach, and intentional/individualized care for families, ultimately and unknowingly leading us toward our future.

In 2022, after a particularly stressful day at work, Kaylee called me (Brie) to talk and decompress. During that conversation, she casually brought up the idea of going into business together. At the time, I had no intention or desire to run a business, but I knew that if I were ever going to take that leap, Kaylee was the only person I would want to do it with – so I hopped on board. We began planning and laying the groundwork in January of 2022, and things moved quickly from there. By April of 2022, we were seeing our very first patients through our own practice.

3 Arrows was a God-given vision. From our very first conversation, to designing the clinic, to each employee hire, we have felt His hand guiding every step. Both individually and as partners, we believe that creating 3 Arrows has been one of Christ’s purposes for us – building a space where we can serve Him by serving others. We continually reflect on that calling, often asking ourselves and each other, “How can we continue to align our vision for this business and our ambitions with God’s will?””

Our families are a huge part of how we got to where we are today. Our husbands have each used their talents to assist and guide us. Kaylee’s husband, Blake, often uses his construction and engineering skillset in our aid. He has hung countless shelves, assembled furniture, and regularly serves as our personal handyman! My husband, Ryan, contributes by offering his business-oriented mind and tech-savvy skills. Beyond their physical help, our husbands’ support and encouragement has allowed us to bring to life a dream that we didn’t even know we had.
Our children have loved helping at the clinic and growing up with each other in these last four years. They enjoy pretending to work for us!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being wives and moms, the most difficult part in the beginning was simply finding time to become business owners. For the first few months, we would get home from work, put on the mom/wife hats for dinner, play, and bedtime, and then get on the phone with each other until the wee hours of the morning trying to figure out how to run a business. There was definitely less sleep had in those first few months. While there are learning curves and obstacles in any new adventure, we quickly learned to play at each other’s strengths. We are a team; we are divide and conquer; we are checks and balances; we are peanut butter and jelly. The road we are on is not always smooth and could contain roadside signs saying “Hazard: chaos ahead”, but starting and growing a business that serves others and changes lives doesn’t come without some “skin in the game”. While it can be trying, we are confident that, as long as we can keep between the lines, God will continue to direct our path.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Simply stated, 3 Arrows is a pediatric therapy clinic providing specialized care for: early speech-language, lactation/feeding (birth and older), myofunctional therapy, oral ties, and myofascial release therapy.

As 3 Arrows was forming, we agreed that the missing piece in the standard treatment for kiddos was a team-based approach. We had previously been fortunate to co-treat with some amazing occupational and physical therapists, but needed more professionals and disciplines to help assess and treat the whole child. We worked hard to network and create relationships with dedicated dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, lactation professionals, counselors, chiropractors, and functional health practitioners. We know that our bodies are connected head-to-toe, and when we try to isolate an issue, we do a disservice to ourselves and our clients. Treating holistically includes getting to the root cause of the symptoms at hand. We are fortunate to work with some of the best local providers to create multidisciplinary, individualized treatment plans. Many of these professionals have been in our corner, providing necessary support and cheering us on through our entire journey. We are forever grateful for each of them.

When we designed the 3 Arrows clinic, we wanted it to feel like an extension of our families’ homes. “Cozy” was the word that kept coming to us when picking colors and decor. We love that families walk through our door, kick off their shoes, lounge in our chairs, chat with our employees, and make themselves feel at home.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Our company name originates from Psalm 127:4: “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are children of one’s youth”. This particular scripture runs deep in our souls. We each have three children – our arrows. As mothers, we strive to raise our children the best that we know how, even when we feel that our best is falling short. We become mightier in their presence, much like the skillful archer with a full quiver. We send them out into the world, just as the warrior shoots out his arrows.

We have come to realize that our “arrows” reach far beyond the home. We are blessed that our “arrows” include our children, the children whom we have been fortunate enough to serve, and all of the families that have allowed us on their journey. The number 3 holds special meaning for us, as it symbolizes each of our own 3 children, as well as the therapeutic relationship among the child, the family, and the therapist.

The 3 Arrows team consists of five amazing ladies: Brie, Kaylee, Nichole, Beth, and Tiffany. Brie and I (Kaylee) are the co-owners and have similar specialties in lactation support and treatment for infants, feeding (from birth and beyond), and myofunctional therapy. Additionally, Brie has a heart for early speech and language therapy. Our longest-term employee is Nichole. She has been with 3 Arrows since October 2022. She is a speech-language pathologist, specializing in manual therapy techniques including Myofascial Release (MFR) and Cranialsacral Facial Therapy (CFT). Incorporating her skillset helps the kids’ bodies and functional skills fall in sync and make better progress. Beth is the newest therapist to our crew. She began with us in November 2024 after transitioning from the public school setting. She has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to 3 Arrows. She treats myofunctional therapy cases, as well as early speech and language. Everyone’s friend and the driver of the ship is the office manager, Tiffany. She is the sweet voice on the end of the line when families call and the friendly face that you instantly love upon entering the clinic. She has been with us since April 2024.
We are certain that the five of us were carefully curated to fulfill a mission: serve God through serving families. We are open to whatever doors will be opened for us as we continue to grow and expand in new ways.

We truly strive to build meaningful connections with each and every family we serve. In many ways, we become a source of support beyond just therapy—a safe place where families feel comfortable opening up, sharing their experiences, and expressing their uncertainties. Over time, those relationships often begin to feel like family.
We want to equip them with knowledge, encouragement, and confidence so that when they leave our doors, they feel supported, informed, and empowered in their journey, with their questions answered and their cups overflowing.
