Today we’d like to introduce you to Calia Grinston.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
People see a 22 year old Woman that mentors other Women who feel far from God and are dealing with spiritual inconsistency. I see a 14 year old girl dealing with rejection & abandonment because her biological dad was never there. When I look in the mirror, I see the little girl who dealt with people pleasing because she didn’t want her mom to leave too, though she had no intention of leaving. My childhood negatively impacted how I viewed God because I always felt like I had to work for His love & be perfect in order for Him to accept me. Now, I help other Women unpack what’s keeping them from God so they, too, can begin to walk closely with Jesus again.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This season has been full of stretching and overcoming. Many people know that they’re called by God but not many are willing to give Him their yes. Sometimes, I don’t feel equipped to help these Women but I show up anyways because God sees otherwise. I am not perfect but The Holy Spirit dwells on the inside of me. Oftentimes, I feel like my calling is “too big” for me “little ol- me” but God has been showing me that He’s bigger than my fears. Despite my mind wanting me to shrink & self-sabotage, Women are breaking free and growing in closeness with Jesus. This is why obedience is so important.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Most people believe in practicing what they preach but if I’m preaching something, that’s because it’s already been practiced & experienced. I do not speak to these Women from a high place. They find comfort in seeing that I can relate and that I actually care. I offer resources for Women who feel far from God, whether a Woman chooses my 1:1 Clarity Calls for personalized guidance or my Awakening The Soul guide to work through their Spiritual Dryness themselves. What sets me apart is that when you look up Spiritual Dryness, you can only find encouragement or advice telling you to read, pray, or trust God more. Not many people are willing to walk alongside you and unpack the root below the surface, which is why the cycle never breaks. Before I give someone a path forward, I have to understand what’s been making closeness with God hard for them in the first place. I am also a Christian RNB singer that writes songs about what I go through and how God met me there. I just want to use my gifts to glorify God.
