Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg & Antoinette Rutherford.
Hi Greg & Antoinette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As One is a musical Duo comprised of Greg and Antoinette Rutherford; an
influential couple who is using their marriage, musical gifts and lifestyle of
servitude to transform the world.
Greg and Antoinette met in middle school (2005), the duo learned early on
the impact of their voices together, as the school named them “the Dynamic
Duo.” They developed a multifold partnership leading the high school advance
choir, directing Gospel Choir, and served as Praise & Worship Leaders at a small
church called Old Path Ministries. It was evident these two were destined for
greatness and their musicianship was just a part of what they were called to do.
They wanted to change the world, give hope and build up their communities.
After 6 years of being best friends, they decided to take their friendship to
another level. January 15, 2011 the two we joined together in marriage. Shortly
after the power couple started coaching other couples on how to build a healthy
relationships. They were promoted to Youth Pastors and Community Outreach
Directors at their church, which helped to cultivate their creativity. They started
writing their own music, booking engagements, and developing a fan base. The duo became known as ‘As One’.
As One released their first single entitled, “Taking My Life Back” on March 1, 2019. As the years went on it only made since to invest the same values in their children. Their 5 children are a powerfully purposeful completion to their group, now called ‘The Rutherfords- As ONE’, strengthening the full vision of the generational impact of healthy marriage, ministry & music. As One plans to continue transforming lives with music that uplifts, inspires, and heals the soul.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
1. We didn’t and still don’t fit the normal scope of a ministry family nor a normal family. That frustrated many people in ministry. What we do, many have said it can’t be done.
2. Any have tried to attack our marriage and our character.
3. They have tried to manipulate our children and taint them to tear them down.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As One also known as The Rutherfords are a family gospel group comprised of Gregory and Antoinette Rutherford and their children. While music is the forefront and often times the introduction of this family; the true heart of The Rutherfords is pure God driven ministry. They specialize in music, arts and outreach missions as their foundational belief is that you can’t call yourself the church if you don’t serve your community. Being able to represent God and his divine order and set up for healthy, kingdom families is what they are most proud of. Doing it God’s way is what sets them apart. Moving “as one” and having a heart for restoration in ministries and families is their mission and their definition of generation wealth and kingdom building.

Wholeness for individuals, our families and community matters most. To be whole.mesns to live a life of purpose. Being intentional with every aspect of your life and using the assets, barriers and what some might see as disadvantages as stepping stones to the greater YOU.
